At random times, the right aid mutes itself. If I wait a while it pops back on. Or I go to the app and do any kind of tap, like volume, etc. and it comes back on. The app never shows it as being muted. Happens during streaming or just normal usage. Happened a few times during phone call and it drops the call. After a few attempts at Costco to problem solve, they gave me a new pair. So far, working fine. Just videos, faq’s, info about different products. I have a very specific question that I didn’t see answered anywhere. In the previous version of your software for the Apple Watch, you used to be able to do a long press on a program icon, and it would mute the surrounding environment. That doesn’t seem to work anymore and all you can do is turn down the volume to one. It’s very convenient -- arrrrrrrrrh, 2024-10-25 ### ****- "Good but some improvements would be nice" Overall, I like this unit, which was an improvement over my last pair from Widex, which I bought about 5 years ago. A few comments: I like the four choices but find that I use the Hear in Noise setting the most, and in many situations. It is very useful to have the Telecoil setting for plays. It’s great that the device is Auracast ready. Suggestions: The Widex had a separate setting that, among other things, allowed me to focus the hearing on someone in front of me. Adding that would be very helpful in noisy situations. It may be that the Surroundings Settings that is present for the Telecoil loop setting could be used for the All Around setting to accomplish this. The tones when I change settings, are too loud, and actually annoying. I realize that they are meant to provide some feedback. It would be nice if they were lower, or if I could adjust how loud they are. Overall, when there is no ambient noise, voices are loud enough. When there is ambient noise, voices are harder to hear and understand. I’m sure you know that hearing in noise is a major problem for people with hearing loss like mine and I’m sure you are working on tech to improve this. Of course clarity is a problem. It would be great to have settings that would allow me to better “shape’ the incoming sounds so that speech phonemes would be more sharply differentiated. The Hear in Noise setting seems to have some of this. If you ever need beta testers for all this, I’d be glad to volunteer. -- PL1111, 2024-10-17 ### ***** "Jabra hearing aids" I got my first hearing aid s more than 5 years ag from my ENT doctor and they were Resound aids. I had to change the batteries constantly. When I lost one they told me they n longer made the ones I had and I would have to purchase new ones. I got these Jabra hearing aids which is owned by Resound at Cosco for 1/3 of the cost as my first pair and the batteries are rechargeable. I had to redo the entire initialization process and, during that, lost a couple of custom filters that I created. As a former software guy, I find this pretty mediocre performance. BTW, this is all after a previous update introduced a new "feature" for audio streaming which would be nice except that it fails to turn off that feature once audio streaming is done, forcing the user to reset it manually. I switch over to Jabra from Phillip hearing aids and Jabra hearing aids its self is great. But the app is not. The app is slow to open and it takes 6-10 to load/ connect!! I work retail and I use the app often to switch over to TCoil for my desk phone. Even if I just wake my phone with the app still open, still needs to connect for 6/10 seconds! Ugh. The Phillip was instance connect. This app does not work on my Apple Watch Ultra 2 to control the hearing aids on my watch is connected to my phone and hearing aids. Over time I have had issues with the actual hearing aids, powering down randomly wobbly connections to app. The app is pretty simple but masks a much more complex control system that is really not user friendly. You need professional support to get the most out of them and luckily I got mine through Costco so that’s not pricey. Overall for the money they have been great but if you are not patient and willing to work through the adjustments they can be frustrating at times.
