JBL One FAQ
Is JBL One free?
Yes, JBL One is completely free and it doesn't have any in-app purchases or subscriptions.
Is JBL One legit?
🤔 The JBL One app's quality is mixed. Some users are satisfied, while others report issues. Consider reading individual reviews for more context.
After long time not use, the app doesn’t connect to the speaker well.
If you both Spotify and Amazon music, the app keeps displaying Spotty even not in use of Spotify and Amazon music playing cannot be seen in app.
Also, my friend got this and his app doesn’t connect at all to the speaker.
Stereo pair on deck via Roon!
The best portable option I’ve found for deck or around the house using Roon to drive mult-room music.
Fantastic Sound with JBL Bar 1300X
JBL One is a fantastic app for getting music service content onto JBL Products. JBL One is a wrapper that works with apps from Amazon Music, Spotify, TIDAL, iHeart, Tunein, etc. to CAST content. CAST is the operative word here, because Bluetooth will not work with higher quality music content, like Dolby ATMOS. It’s easy to set up, and it just works.
This app is the functional replacement of an Audio Video Receiver (AVR). With a decent Android or Apple phone and a JBL product, you can have a phenomenal audio system driving that JBL speaker product. I’m assuming it does work with/require WIFI.
Enough review for potential end users. Buy JBL. Use this app.
Now request for JBL developers. Guys, I’m giving away a million dollar idea here. You’re welcome.
What is needed is for JBL One to have the look of a vintage Jukebox. I’d like a package of skins that I could choose between or rotate through. Think DVD Player skins from 20 years ago. Extra points if the skin is animated. With the Jukebox theme, Song Title, Artist, Album Art, Playback Quality all need to be displayed. All of this should be available to the streaming device and shown on the TV screen connected by HDMI ARC (Audio Return Channel).

Terrible connection
Constantly looses connection the boombox 3. Waste of an app and product.
Does not work with all soundbars
Tried to connect to jbl 5.1 soundbar and directed me to jbl bar setup app.. still have yet to find an app to control settings for sound bar
Not much to say best speakers on the market.

WiFi doesn’t work well on a mesh
JBL One doesn’t work well on a mesh WiFi network. It only works if the speaker and smart phone are in the same node in a mesh network. If the phone moves within the same network but switches to another node the speaker disconnects from the WiFi completely. It’s quite difficult to reconnect them after. Please update to resolve this.
100% disappointed
This is the worst app I have ever used in my life. It barely supports any music apps for the moment feature and when I try to log into any of the ones it does support, like Iheartradio it immediately fails login even though I can log into the Iheart app itself no problem
Want access to everything
This isn’t a breeze to setup if you don’t want them to use your precise location or access to your WiFi. Just wanted to use it with my phone Bluetooth. Deleted off my phone and just used the phone Bluetooth settings.
