## JESIP Description
The official JESIP App supporting the use of the JESIP Joint Doctrine: the interoperability framework. The App is a useful tool for all levels of staff working in emergency response including within the emergency services and the Category 1 & 2 responders.

Main Features:

• Easily follow the five principles of joint working using the Joint Decision Model
• Complete a METHANE report (or ETHANE for non-major incidents) and share.
• Find definitions to common terms using the Glossary
• Information on tabards worn by on-scene commanders
• Information about the mobile communications used by the emergency services, including handset instructions and how to change talk groups.

For more details about JESIP and the Joint Doctrine see the website www.jesip.org.uk

============

Note:

GPS and a data connection/mobile network is required to use some aspects of the METHANE reporting tool.

When using a mobile network, the minimum coverage required is:

• A 2G signal to be able to successfully share a METHANE report or checklist via SMS.
• A GPRS or EDGE (2.5G) signal to be able to successfully share a METHANE report or checklist via email
• A GPRS or EDGE (2.5G) signal to be able to successfully use the maps within METHANE. Although the App uses the device’s GPS to pinpoint your location on a map, without a data connection the app cannot load the map graphics.

The strength of the signal will also affect the speed and reliability of these tools.

All other features, such as Principles, JDM, Risk, Communications, Tabards and Glossary (minus link to the online Glossary), work independently and do not rely on a data connection or phone network.

## JESIP Reviews in United Kingdom

### ****- "Bug report page title over page detail"
On some screens on my iPhone 12 the page heading covers the top of the page detail.
E.g. the methane screen.
-- Ian1covkid, 2024-09-10

### *---- "Broken"
Won’t load at all
-- Nick🍑, 2024-08-07

### ****- "Good, solid app"
As an instructor at a fire school I recommend this app to students as a useful tool.

It’s fairly simple to use and has its glitches now and then but overall a solid performer.
A very useful aid.
-- FiremanThud, 2024-05-14

### *---- "Could do better !"
App opens fine the first time you open it but doesn’t work on subsequent occasions.
-- Speleo123, 2024-03-19

### *---- "Awful"
A PDF would be more reliable than this to be honest. Controls within the app
Don’t render properly or fail to respond, no resizing to make best use of space.

More functional apps were available on day one of the App Store when it launched.

By all means have a look at the app, then work out what you are going to use during an incident, as this app is not it !
-- geekmoose, 2023-05-28

### **--- "Does not fit screen"
This soo is brilliant and has gone in use though does not fit to my iPhone 12 Pro Maxs screen instead looks like I’m using s a smaller phone screen size!
-- Jordan Baildon, 2022-11-13

### ****- "Unable to use on IPad - no screen rotation"
Would be ideal if I could use this on an IPad in landscape mode so I can use my Bluetooth keyboard. The App will only open in portrait mode and will not rotate into landscape.
-- steele7, 2022-03-20

### ****- "Good"
A very useful resource for JESIP information: please can you update so that the app fits a larger phone screen size! Thanks!
-- S3rgeant, 2020-11-09

### ***-- "Easy to follow"
This app is great, easy to use & works well at an incident. Can we have iPhone 11 Pro compatability? (I.e. full screen?). Thanks!
-- JackDuds, 2020-01-22

### ***** "Great"
Just wow. Great app used during a presentation that was spot on. All relevant and informative the app in conjunction with the presenter worked together in harmony. 10/10..
