Best app for remote controlling from ipad

A lucky guy on

This is the best app from the app store to control a computer from an ipad. The only thing missing is to be able to have linear scrolling when controlling a windows computer (and not acceleration scrolling, which is messy on windows)

Amazing app! Well above my expectations!

jbx2050 on

The app works sooooo much better than I thought! Fluid makes the connection sooo fast at 60 FPS even though its not perfect I would be happy if you keep improving it. butttt like every app, there’s a downside. There is no instructions on how to set it up on Linux.

Great

I was using screen mirroring on my MacBook but wanted to switch to my iPad as a primary device and remotely log into my Mac. All the free software I tried just didn’t operate very well…controls were annoying. Took the leap and bought this software and no regrets. I love how it shows the full screen and with the Magic Keyboard it’s like using the ‘mouse’ locally on the machine. I do recommend cranking up the quality if you have the bandwidth. On the smaller 11” iPad makes it a lot easier to make out the details from the ‘larger’ screen I’m mirroring.

They addressed the Windows 11 issues!

Works perfectly for all my needs! Thank you for addressing the bugs i mentioned in my previous review! Keep up the good work!

Misleading claims, Basically useless for art use.

silvrowan on

I bought this because it was supposed to work well, have pressure sensitivity support, and be subscription-free. It has absolutely failed the first two, and from statements made in the forums will fail on point three if you want pressure sensitivity. -the claimed ability to easily move files from iPad to desktop seems to be a complete fabrication. Drag and drop didn’t work, nor did copy and pasting. - the “full” support for the Apple Pencil claimed does not include pressure sensitivity or tilt sensitivity. More below. -support is a joke. Trying to get useful information out of the website, help files, or by reaching out to staff is nearly impossible. The few nuggets of useful information are scattered in tiny bits and random places, if even accurate. The troubleshooting guides are hilariously brief and not particularly helpful. Expect customer and tech support to ghost you if they even bother to reply in the first place. Both through their support forum, and via email. The support forum is full of questions no one even bothered replying to. I found more questions without replies than with. -and the slam dunk, that ensured this was a waste of money for art use: the iPad pencil sensitivity is not actually supported, despite claims that it is fully supported. According to comments by jump staff on the forums, It’s currently in beta, for Mac only, and once out of beta will require subscription to the *enterprise* plan. The highest business subscription plan they have. Because every artist has hundreds of dollars to burn every year-after all, we’re notoriously wealthy people, with massive support teams to organize (sarcasm, in case that’s unclear). I can’t even think how pressure sensitivity could benefit *most* businesses to the point of it being a selling feature. Slightly more natural writing feel? It’s still on the iPad surface so people will write like trash until they get used to it, regardless. In addition, Jump has some really weird UI choices and bugs that significantly increase friction. -for some absurd reason they set up the scrolling/swiping backwards, so if you’re switching between the rest of the iPad and jump so does the direction you have to scroll, it is maddening. -The swipe feature doesn’t even work consistently- for example the *windows program bar* will not swipe, so you have to use the search option, which is normally fine, but awkward and slow, and useless if you don’t remember the name of the program you’re looking for.

nothing happens when i press sign in

asijdasoidjd on

i havent been able to use the app yet. everytime i press login it just shows me a blank screen and nothing ever pops up.

App is good when it works

Sats4eva on

But the support i found is not good. I’ve asked a few questions to which none have received a satisfactory answer. For starters i log into to my mac and it keeps sending me back to the sign in screen. Not a single answer to address

Not at all intuitive - waste of 70 dollars

GCxxxYz on

Bought both the iOS and Mac OS versions - the app says that my computer should show up once I download the connect app on my computer and grant permissions for screen recording and accessibility - I did all of this - I also made sure to sign in with mu desktop - and my computer is still not showing up in my jump iphone app.

This is perfect!

Sigurdur on

After iTeleport got discontinued, I’ve tried several VNC apps and was always disappointed. The trackpad mode of moving the mouse always felt flimsy and cheaply made or non-existent, but not on Jump! On Jump it feels like a real trackpad just like iTeleport was, it’s like a drop-in iTeleport replacement! And it supports mouse too! The only VNC app I’ve found so far that actually works with a mouse! I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a VNC app to remotely control their computers!* *This message is NOT sponsored by Phase Five Systems.

Pretty good

Does what it claims. Obviously there is a little bit of lag but that’s normal for rdp. Hope they keep improving it :)
