Bought the Ikamand for my big Joe and I finally got around to installing it and the app doesn’t work. Spent over 250 and now I can even use it. Very disappointed
Any customer looking to buy one of there Wi-Fi grills must be mad. What’s to stop them doing the exact same thing as they did with the IKamand. No warning, no communication on the app just stopped working, only to find they decided to can the product. I have four of them at $249 each, they did not even have the common sense to leave the app active but with just local connection so you could at least still use it. NOPE just wash there hands of it. At least a decent company would add the old device to the new app! Again no!! So you can spend $1000 plus on one of the new grills and in a couple of years end up in the same situation. You have been warned
Since now having to use this for the Pellet Joe, it has made the smoker unusable when using the app. I have had the pellet Joe for 2 years and cook on it regularly. Whatever program the app has for temp control is horrible. It way overshoots the temp and then goes way under. There is nothing wrong with the smoker, once I stopped using the app and went to manual mode, the smoker functioned liked normal. I hope there is a fix soon, or I will be moving on to a new smoker. Very disappointed considering how expensive the smoker is.
This device has always had connectivity issues, but now the product doesn’t work at all and the app doesn’t allow you to even connect to your hardware. It’s now a completely useless 250$ accessory. I even deleted the app and tried to reinstall it only to find it no longer exists. So angry and disappointed.
If you feel like wasting your money, ruining anything you try to cook and getting frustrated to no end, the iKammand is for you…
KJ’s last connected device’s app, stopped working so I thought this app was the update. To my surprise, it doesn’t support it either and when you contact support (email only since you can’t speak to anyone), they say you’re out of warranty too bad.
Kamado Joe has decided to stop supporting their $300 ikamand, and in doing so has also completely disabled the use of the ikamand wireless controller. I have been an avid user and supporter for over 1 years and they really slapped users in the face here.
Since the iKamand app quit working I came to get this app. Well, this is not compatible with it. Which means now I own a 250 dollar unit which is now a paperweight. I hope they bring support to iKamand on this app.
I would stay away from anything app controlled they produce. I had an iKamand, and they disabled the servers making the device completely useless with no warning or communication. It is now a $200+ paperweight. I reached out and was told I was out of luck. They did this during July 4, which is one of the largest cooking times of the year in the US. They have offered no resolution or explanation to those of us left with a non-functioning product apart from the product has been discontinued...while several online retailers were still selling them. The Konnect Joe may work now but what happens when Kamado Joe decides to no longer support it? Given their track record of abandoning apps, I would not trust Kamado Joe.
