Keka Reviews

Absolutely essential

I already loved this app on macOS and the iOS version does not disappoint. Most of the other archive apps I’ve used are outdated or filled with ads. Keka does exactly what it needs to do and does it well.

Please add 2 fields to confirm the password when creating an archive. If the password matches in field 1 and 2, then I entered it correctly. Then I don't have to use the "show password" button to verify my password.

Does not work for me

Bought to open a subtitle rar file and only get extraction failed error. Wasted money and will request refund thru Apple’s refund page. Disappointed.

Exactly what I have been looking for a good iOS file compression app

This is exactly what I need in an iOS file compression app. The only thing I wish it could do is the ability to add files to an existing compressed file.

Other unzip apps are tracking/harvesting scams. This is the real deal.

I’ve bought and used Keka on Mac and iOS. It’s great: unzip 7zips, create 7zips, other special management features, plus a pleasant art logo/design including a brilliantly chosen marsupial theme. And it DOES NOT HARVEST your personal data to sell you to marketers (and who knows who else). Look at the privacy policy and the “Data Used to Track You” info box. This is a great app, and I hope more people learn about it and buy it

Best compression/extraction utility on the platform

NeoYokel on

United States

By far the most delightful compression/extraction utility for macOS (imo) is somewhat diminished in delightfulness in its mobile form, though not in its pure functionality. From the perspective of a year one iOS user with plenty of experience exploring what alternatives have been offered since the introduction of the File Provider API in iOS11, Keka for iOS/iPadOS' shear speed is distinct enough from its few platform competitors to warrant the title of Best such utility on the platform. Also unique/notable: - [Open Source] - Unique support for compression of entire directories outside the app's respective system folder(s)

I looking for this app

Simple, EZ to use… no ads or subscriptions 👍

Emma Libster on

Like the title says… this is a very EZ to use file management utility - worth every bit of $4 it costs. Pay once, and that’s it! No in-app advertisements or pop-ups nagging you to subscribe or pay for a ‘Pro’ version to unlock all the features. Hats off to the developers for keeping it a lean fast tool; works great in iPhone/iPad, I have not tried it on a Mac PC yet. Highly recommended!

Best tool to encrypt zip archives

Alvar Broen on

I used this program on Mac for years and was happy to find it available for use on iPad. I bought it again.

Worth paying for. Works with everything.

I actually paid for the Mac version because it works so well, even though you can download it free. I immediately bought the iOS version when I heard about it. I am not disappointed. I found it very useful for IT & development. I recently started using UTM in both Mac and iOS, and being able to extract VM images on my iPhone instead of extracting them on my Mac and then transferring the larger decompressed files is a huge win. Technically, this version doesn’t support as many formats as the Mac version, but it’s got everything you’ll likely need. In a time when people rarely pay for apps, this is one worth supporting. Did I mention it’s completely open source and has no tracking?
