I SO wanted to love this app. I got a free three month trial with my health insurance and was really excited to try the running program. I love Kic.Pod and the blog but the app is just not great for runners if you don’t have an Apple Watch. I use a Garmin and without Garmin/Strava/other smartwatch connectivity this was just a pain to log workouts, so most of the time I ended up not using it at all. The app ended up just being a recipe app for me, and one I used infrequently at best. Sorry team. 😢 -- RJ84, 2024-12-21 ### ***** "CHANGED MY LIFE!" The KIC app is the best fitness and wellness app I have EVER used (and I have tried a few over the years). I have also encouraged multiple friends to download it and they have also never looked back. The workouts are perfect if you like variety, ranging from pilates, to running and strength. The workouts vary in timing from 5min burners to even full marathon programs, all of which can be done individually or you can stack workouts depending on what you have time for that day. Their meditations are motivational, affirming and at times so calming they will put you to sleep in the best way possible! It provides the best recipes and there are always new recipes added for diversity. You do not count your calories or macros, but can feel assured that all meals are approved by professionals so you eat balanced meals that are enjoyable and not restrictive like many other apps out there. The app and the brand of KIC are all about encouraging you to have a positive relationship with yourself, your body and overall health. If you haven’t tried KIC yet, you are really missing out! The beginner programs are truly beginner friendly and you can feel and see the results. I haven’t experienced bugs, and I feel that everything essential is in there. No fuss. The app didn’t quite hit my expectations regarding set up and user functions. I felt it was a little hard to navigate (based off other apps I’ve used in the past) and didn’t like how you had to search for a warm up/cool down aspect rather it being built into each exercise session. When submitting a refund through apple, I was denied multiple times. Apparently satisfaction of a product is not part of their policy for a refund. $117 is a lot of money to spend on a product you arn’t happy with. After emails and calls to apple support nothing can be done. And yes there is a “trial” period but 7 days when you work full time/kids and don’t get time every day to trial the app isn’t exactly long enough time. So if you’re in a remote area or can’t get to wifi (eg overseas) or in a gym with bad reception you can’t use it which is a real shame and frustrating. I would be great if the app could be updated to change this to make it more accessible. Recently re-downloaded kic to get back into working out and to give me something to base off at the gym. When I went to start my first workout I was super confused as to why there’s no longer any breakdown or summary underneath of any of the exercises. The only way to view the workout is to watch the whole video which makes it hard to set up the appropriate space in the gym to workout. From memory it used to be broken down underneath the video which was really helpful. They’ve not played when my phone is locked, but even when I’ve tried leaving my phone unlocked for a run they were skipping and out of sync with the timer. Very disappointing considering I’ve just updated the app also.
