Kindertales for Parents Reviews

Someone please fix this app

This app is awful. My kids teachers struggle with it. It rarely works correctly. It’s just terrible. I hope my son’s school will switch apps.. I hate leaving my son all day and then no idea what he’s up to because this lousy app won’t work

The App consistently locks parent out

For almost every updates from my child’s school, I have to log in over and over again even after updating the app. I think this should be looked into such that I should be able to view at a glance.

Blank spaces

I have been using the app for more than half a year. I always keep it updated so as not to miss anything. I am set up to receive email notifications and notifications on my phone when there are updates to review. Most times, when I click the phone notification, it takes me to the page and nothing is there! Nothing in the newsfeed. Nothing in my messages. The pages are blank! No amount of refreshing helps. I then have to login on my computer to view the message or photo. Some days it’s fine and works as expected. Other days, it’s just all blank.

No Good

I got this app because of my child’s daycare using it and to be able to keep forms updated see my bill and so on. I hate it. I am constantly having to uninstall it and reinstall because it tells me my username is wrong. So I go online do a password reset all types of extra things and uninstall and reinstall. Seriously this app is a pain.

Great app

Just wish the photos posted would be higher quality with the ability to save them directly and added compatibility with Face ID unlock. Edit: I figured out how to view the higher quality pictures, still wish I could download directly, though.

Nice but needs some tweaking

First impression is that the app looks nice. I like the news feed and seeing the pictures the teacher uploads, but you can not save the pictures or change orientation to landscape. Going to activities there is nothing showing. I would imagine that would be way to much work for the teacher to have to do on top what they are already doing unless there was just some easy way for the teacher to log those tasks. I would imagine they would need a dedicated tablet on the wall (mounted high enough so the kids don’t touch) and displays a grid with the names and activities so they could easily just tap it to keep track. Reading messages is very cumbersome. You have to scroll left, right and up and down. Can not zoom out to see the whole message. Font is large so there is room to zoom out. Feels like it is a pdf but won’t scale right. Probably not going to use the app. Will check back in if it gets better or useful

Wish my daycare didn’t change over...

This app is horrible. When switching between multiple children you have to click on the child in the menu and then go back to the menu again and click on the daily activity because even though you switched children in the menu, the daily activity still shows the previous child you were viewing. Ever since putting my bank card into their website, I've had 2 fraud alerts from my bank, forcing them to send me all new information, I’ve NEVER had fraud on my bank account up until 2 days after the first time I was charged from Kindertales. I very quickly switched it over to a credit card so no one could get access to my bank account information. I’ve always paid our daycare from our bank account, I’m now forced to use a credit card for protection, and that gives me another bill to pay. Also, the messaging is all screwed up when viewing in the app. I received a message about my son on 2/20/2019 at 8:58 am, according to the Kindertales app. Yet when I opened the message, it was dated May 17, 2017 10:39 am. Since we just started using this app about a month ago, I knew this wasn’t correct, but it was still confusing and I wasn’t sure if the message applied to something that happened today, or perhaps a different day, since there were inconsistencies in the time and date, I didn’t know, so I had to call the daycare to get clear. I hope these glitches get fixed since I don’t really have a choice, given this is the program our daycare has decided to use.

Very useful.
