This would be my go to route planning app but the spam is annoying. Every time I open the app, it asks me to upgrade to premium. I’ve bought the world maps package which I think is great value. I don’t want to pay for premium so stop asking me. Mostly the route planning is great. It does seem to drain the battery quick when using navigation so I often export the gpx to another app.
A good app for route planning, but the voice navigation definitely has plenty of room for improvement . On roads with a slight bend I get “now turn right then keep left” or on straight roads it’s “go straight ahead……now take [road name]”. Had to turn that off as it’s very infuriating and distracting.
I use Komoot mostly to plan my long distance rides and I find it very, very helpful and useful. - very intuitive and snappy interface - lots of useful options - great UI Now to some downsides. - elevation data is quite off - especially in the UK. I usually add extra 20% in any country and that’s a good estimation - no ability to add custom POI and export them to Wahoo - no water sports like kayaking or SUP
Use this weekly for years - it’s good but so frustrating in many ways. So much room for improvement and so many small changes could make it do much better. Say the developers rarely act on user feedback - even for big fixes - and development is glacial. Such a shame.
Downloaded the app, seemed decent, paid £19.99 for the world map. The next thing to appear after you pay for the world map is kamoot just slapping you across the face with ‘now unlock kamoot premium for only £29.99 a year’… I thought you’ve got to be having a laugh.. anyway went to plan a simple bike journey in my local area, and the app couldn’t have recommended a worse route. It’s just been a big waste of time, and I would appreciate a refund as a torn and tattered paper map could plan a better route than this app..
Better options out there. Apple Watch app is dreadful, disconnects every 10 seconds.
Great App really enjoyed but needs to be easier to transfer data when you switch phones as it initially failed to recognise my email.
I love this app. My daughter and I use it all the time for our bike rides. It’s just easy to use and has a good amount of information to review after your ride.
Whatever you do don’t try and cycle along the full length of Ermine way The second half is almost impassable-I am a good bike handler and came off twice in the deep muddy ruts filled with water You need a 4x4 to get through it not a bicycle
