kooky is the first smart system for cups. Get your drink in a kooky cup and – when you're done – drop it off in one of the many kooky boxes around town.

SCAN
As usual, get your coffee: grab your favourite drink and add the kooky cup to your account. Pay for your drink plus 1 CHF deposit.

DRINK
As usual, enjoy your drink: take your time and enjoy your drink, no matter if on the spot or on the go.

DROP
As usual, drop the cup off: Bring the cup close to a kooky box and drop it, get the deposit back in minutes.

No effort, small budget, huge impact.
Every time you drop off a kooky cup, you’ll get the full deposit back in the app wallet. 

You can request payout of your wallet credit at any time. 

kooky only takes a 10% fee on your payout request as cost of service.

Schade, die tolle Idee scheint zu scheitern. Die Rückgabe der Becher ist in Bern kaum mehr möglich.

Schade, die Kooky-Säulen scheinen zu verschwinden. In Zürich ist keine Säule mehr auf der Karte und ich konnte am Bahnhof keine finden. Das Projekt scheint zu versanden und es gibt keinerlei Kommunikation.

Das erfassen und das zurückgeben funktioniert zuverlässig und schnell. Praktisch wäre wenn man beim Scannen des Bechers die Leuchte des Handys einschalten könnte um bei schlechten Lichtverhältnissen schneller den QR Code zu erfassen.

I have just used my 135th cup. I can imaging that this makes quite a difference to the environment. The costs are low enough to make it a no brainer (considering I don’t need to take reusables home to wash).

I would like the app to go straight to the QR scan on start up but that’s a minor topic)

### **--- "Barcode-Erkennung könnte besser sein"
Finde es eher mühsam, dass die Funktion zum Becher scannen nicht prominenter ist. Zudem ist die Erkennung des Barcode im Vergleich zB zu TWINT deutlich schlechter. Fokus muss gesucht werden, Becher manchmal geneigt/gedreht werden. Dauert teilweise eher langsam und man könnte fast annehmen, dass die App spinnt.

Die Idee ist genial. Bloss scheint mir das Auszahlungsverfahren (Überweisung auf IBAN) kompliziert - so kompliziert, dass ich es noch nicht gemacht habe. Bessere Möglichkeuten (TWINT? PayPal?) wären super

Super Sache, die Servicegebühr gibt es auch nicht mehr, es ist also nur noch ein Depot was man wieder zurückbekommt :)

Es sind nicht mehr ganz so viele Boxen da aber kommen hoffentlich wieder mehr!

### ***** "Super Idee"
Ich finde das ganze System super praktisch und einfach. Ich habe in den letzten Jahren echt viel coffee to go getrunken und natürlich immer keinen eigenen Becher dabei gehabt. So hatte ich ein ganz schön schlechtes Gewissen wegen der ganzen Einmalbecher. Kooky ist die super Lösung dafür. Und es gibt ja wirklich viele Rückgabestationen, man muss kaum weiter laufen als zum PET-Recycling.

Hier wurde sehr viel die 10% Servicegebühr kritisiert, aber mal ehrlich, 10% von 1 Franken pro Becher sind 0.10 CHF an Gebühr für einen oder mehrere Kaffees. Es steht einem ja frei, den Becher mehrfach zu verwenden, bevor man ihn zurück gibt. Mache ich zum Beispiel am Arbeitsplatz.
Es geht hier um den eigenen Beitrag zur Nachhaltigkeit, indem man sich für so einen Becher entscheidet. Warum soll dafür jemand anderes zahlen? Zahlreiche Onlineshops bieten inzwischen auch die Option durch ein paar Rappen Aufzahlung CO2 zu kompensieren. Das zahlt auch der Kunde. Die Geschäfte, die kooky anbieten werden schon auch dafür zahlen müssen, mit 0.10 CHF pro Becher lässt sich die Firma sicher nicht finanzieren.

Aber wisst ihr, was echt cool wäre? Wenn Starbucks kooky Becher anbieten würde!

Dem Endkunden wird bei der Auszahlung des Depots eine Servicegebühr verrechnet. So wird das natürlich kein Erfolg. Die Kosten sollten die grossen Unternehmen (Migros, Coop etc.) zahlen und nicht Student*innen etc.. 
Werde es nicht mehr nutzen.

Diese Service-Gebühr empfinde ich als eine verdammte Schweinerei. Zeigt doch zuerst der kooky-Gemeinschaft auf, wie nachhaltig euere Becher produziert werden!!!

### *---- "Expensive, non-sustainable, frustrating"
Kooky takes a 10% fee on any money they return back to you. I used one of their cups for the first time today and do not wish to use one of them ever again in the future. However, since the caution was only 1 CHF, they say that the funds are too low for them to return the money to me. 

Furthermore, their cups are made out of plastic, which goes against the sustainability initiative. 

At last, I had to find 5 kooky trash cans before I could find one that was empty and in which I could dispose of my cup. 

Overall, the opportunity cost of using this « sustainable » alternative is far above that of  using  a single use cup or my own reusable cup. Therefore, I do not recommend this product/ app.

Die Rückgabeautomaten funktionieren öfter nicht und die Beatbeitungsgebühr sehe ich auch nicht ganz ein. Zudem kann ich mir schwer vorstellen dass es nachhaltiger ist Becher aus PLASTIK, die nur ein paar mal verwendet werden können und so viele manuelle aufgabe und entleerungsschritte benötigen eine wirklich so gute CO2-Bilanz haben….

- bei jedem Bahnhofausgang, da ich nach dem Getränk im Zug denn Becher NICHT mach Hause nehmen will !
