Around 300€? Fraud !!! Read carefully
The first software freeware presentation came with the all machines présente as ‘pay’ machines.
Ok I bought the app 50€ or 60€.
At my surprise some machines came with 20$tag, and a lot of them !!
If they where not included in the package, I think I make communication clear, those machines appear on free app, so if you buy you get ! Other way is false advertising and fraud publicity.
I Want to cancel my purchase
I already see by some YouTube videos the DAW is limited ,… , but at this point is just shame.
Trop d’achats in app !!!
Concept super.
Not perfect, but still my favourite composition tool ever.
Gadget 2 has such a rich library of sounds, instruments and tools that hitting ANY note gives me inspiration to start something. And the scene layout makes me focus on each section of the song and enrich it until it sounds almost overproduced in 16 bars, then I duplicate and mute parts to get the song dynamics right. On good days I end up with 2-3 great song ideas.
What's not to like, apart from some a few temporarily irritating points (see below)?
It has :
- multiple drum machines with a lot of character
- multiple instruments for specific purposes (basses, leads, keys, atmosphere)
- samplers
- all of the above with classic-sounding presets
- effects
- automation
- easy ordering, duplication and looping of song sections (with individual fades AND TEMPOS !)
- lots of additional sounds from iM1, iWavestation, Module, etc.
- sharing projects between devices, which means that whatever you start on an iphone or ipad can be completed on a Mac later.
I own both the IOS and Mac OS versions and though it's a bit expensive, it has been the best investment ever, because it allows me to write anywhere in public spaces (on the iPhone), while watching low-noise TV (with the iPad), polish everything on the Mac and eventually merge with other instruments in Logic with the AU Gadgets.
The irritating parts :
- sharing projects between devices is OK except for the user-defined kits, in Bilbao for example. It is really a pain to have to re-create each of your custom instruments on *each* device.
- the limited-scaled keyboard. The idea is good (and has been quite common in other apps) but it is easy to get lost when all you have are five repeating white keys. They could have used a bit of color, or labels, to identify the notes (like 1, ii, iii, IV, V, etc.). Since the relationship between notes of the scale is important, they could have hinted at the intervals, instead of just indicating the root with a dot,
- THE CHORDS ! Man. While we love playing chords, WHO PLAYS ALL CHORDS AS SEVENTHS??? It would be great to reduce the number of notes in a chord, ie.: keep triads or suspended chords.
Four stars instead of five because of these irritants.
That said I can't recommend this app enough.
