I use my iPad in landscape mode since I have a keyboard attached to it. This app no longer works in landscape mode (it used to in old version) so I downloaded another local Houston news channel weather app that works in landscape mode.

When the app opens, it shows briefly in landscape mode and immediately converts to portrait mode. iPad is set up to change mode as I turn iPad different directions and works on all other apps, but not this one

KPRC updated their storm tracker app mid-2024. The old app was my family’s go-to for weather. Our alternate app for weather in SE Texas was Fox 26 Weather. Our main app was KPRC 2 Storm Tracker. Since the KPRC update, we have not used the app because of the insane popup ads, the confusing navigation, and the apparent absence of some tried and true features, such as future forecasts, cloud cover, wind speed, and the short daily text forecasts from our weather experts. If these features are still present, they are not easily accessible during my busy day. For now we are using the Fox 26 weather app. We are extremely loyal to KPRC channel 2, it is our local news channel of choice and watch it on tv. But this new app is a hot mess for us.

This app has become virtually useless.  The interface is awkward and clunky.  In the old version everything you needed was available when it loaded.  Now you have to go to the menu to find anything and there is no back button.  But worst of all the forecast never matches the broadcast forecast and is not remotely close to the weather in my neighborhood.  This used to be my go to app for weather but the changes made it useless.

The prior version of this app was very good. The current version is basically an advertising platform with basic weather that can be obtained from any weather app. The section with meteorologist write-ups is basically unusable because of the ads. Full-screen ads completely cover the screen. Seriously?

Worst update ever. New style and design is useless. Has a razor thin bar to select what should/used to be in a menu. You can barely select what you want. The 10 day forecast is now horizontal so it doesn’t even fit in the screen. 

The whole update is just dumb and useless.
