Developed by the Kee Tas Kee Now Tribal Council Education Authority (KTCEA), this app is built entirely on the voices and wisdom of over 150 fluent Cree Speaking Elders, offering an authentic connection to the heartbeat of the Northern Alberta Cree Nations and their cultures. A Gift for the World This app is a resource for the global community. Whether you are a descendant of one of the Nations living far from home, a lifelong language learner, or someone discovering the Cree language for the first time, this platform offers a direct path to understanding. It is designed for anyone, anywhere, who wishes to hear the true sounds and stories of the Cree people. What Makes This Experience Unique? - The Voice of the People: Every recording features the natural accent and knowledge of KTC Elders. You aren’t just learning words; you are hearing history and heritage. - Land-Based Wisdom: The content reflects the inseparable bond between the Cree language and the natural world and is organized into culturally grounded categories. - A Growing Legacy: With over 1,000 words and phrases, the app is a "living resource."
