## KUT News 90.5 Description
No other Austin media brings you national and local news like KUT 90.5 FM. KUT News is more than just Austin’s NPR Station. Our listeners can tune in 24 hours a day for news and information from NPR, PRI, the BBC and our own newsroom. Staples like Morning Edition and All Things Considered from National Public Radio, plus programs like The World from Public Radio International and BBC News Hour bring global perspectives, and award-winning local news from KUT's reporters, are all in the palm of your hand. Download, tune in, and listen wherever you may be.

In this new version you can read KUT news stories from within the app, as well as top stories from NPR and the Texas Standard. You can now also receive important news alerts and notifications from the KUT newsroom--we promise not to spam you with too many messages, we'll just alert you when there's important information to share with our audience. You can always opt to turn this off! We've also included access to many of our podcasts episodes. Once you've found your new favorite, just subscribe to it on your preferred podcast app.

The KUT app provides an all digital, efficient stream using the AAC+ codec. It sounds great on all platforms, devices, radios and over cellular. You can of course listen to KUT when you're traveling outside of Austin, and even the country, to stay connected to home. Tap in some headphones or plug your phone and have a listen!

If you're also a fan of KUTX -- The Austin Music Experience, please download the separate version of that app as well and tune in for music discovery journey. The KUTX app has the current playlist, two additional music streams and the same great audio. We've separated the apps so we can bring better and different features to each in the future.

KUT 90.5 FM is a public radio station from The University of Texas. We broadcast from the Moody College of Communication in the Dealey Center for New Media on campus, bringing you 24-hour news and information from NPR, PRI, the BBC & KUT News. We couldn’t do what we do without your continued support. Thank you. And thanks for listening!

## KUT News 90.5 Reviews in United States

### ***** "It’s the most frequently used app on my phone"
As a monthly member I listen A LOT, but I live where reception isn’t always great. This solved my problem and has the convenience of being able to take KUT with me when I get out of my car running errands or go on a walk. I like the way it is designed and its ease of use. Two thumbs way up.
-- sherilynpage, 2024-11-05

### ***** "Great App Excellent Content"
KUT is my favorite station for the most informative and entertaining content of any other station. The app works very well.
-- TruffleTart, 2024-07-23

### ***** "Love KUT"
I like having a short cut to stream KUT. Listening to KUT keeps me up on national and local news, great programming and interviews, too. Keeps me company on morning hikes and gets my day started off right.
-- Shuppiedoop, 2024-02-24

### *---- "Shortcomingsy"
I do so wish this app to work correctly.
It constantly drops out.
Constantly…
-- B.C. Decimal, 2023-11-10

### ***** "Convenient Access to KUT Programming"
This is the best way to access a broad range of KUT Programming
-- ROC'95, 2023-10-16

### ***-- "Needs work."
Klugey and has issues, likely on the back end.
-- Shutter59, 2023-03-26

### ***-- "KUT = Awesome, app = meh"
The app works but that is about all I can say about it
-- Dirtymotherscratcher, 2023-02-20

### ***** "My NPR fix on the go"
Recently moved to Austin. Had to load this app on my phone immediately to maintain my NPR fix. Not disappointed.
-- Phootman, 2022-12-31

### ***** "Great station"
Good app convenient way to get a good news station.
-- DWR72, 2022-12-26

### **--- "You are the worst Burr"
This app has got to go back and get reworked. There’s a bug between AirPods and live streaming though the app. The constant ad playing for the safe workplace company et al makes KUT feel like any other pre-recorded FM station on a commercial format. The app loses its place regularly throughout playback so you get those 30 sec replays constantly. Suggestions I don’t have- I’m using npr1 and the old npr app that has a lot less ads or the website directly but it still seems dumb that KUT’s app is so bad
