The app works OK. However, the notifications on the iPhone have no sound and do not wake the screen. Spent some time myself, then with Apple to troubleshoot. No luck. It would be nice to get audible alerts when I’m away and a door is locked/unlocked.

Why am I spending 20 times longer trying to connect to my lock than it would take to just reach out and unlock it? Horrible app. Can’t even use this for the reason we got it which is to be able to remotely unlock our door when needed. Will not connect to Bluetooth even after multiple attempts, uninstalling and reinstalling the app and even trying a different phone. Same problem. Will not connect.

I can rarely get the app to actually lock or unlock the deadbolt. It is a very poor application.

So… just to use the app you need an account, no surprise, but… you have to use a “generic” email address Gmail, Hotmail, etc.. And if you use your own domain it won’t create the account. Furthermore the error just tells you your not connected to WiFi. Piss poor software design and choices. I haven’t set up the locks yet, but from the low ratings of this app I’m sure that will be fun. Get your act together Kwikset, you can do better. Get a real software engineer!!!

Getting the Bluetooth pairing is awful and doesn’t work! We tried to pair 2 different phones and couldn’t get it to pair. Will be taking it back.

I can’t even create an account!!!

Who ever developed this app was not any app or smart luck expert. The app is a total mess. I have written so many reviews on this and I will keep writing until someone do something about it. I have many issues with this App. …lock uses too much battery, believe me, it is installed by a locksmith and there is no jam or issues with installation. I change batteries every month and hardly use it remotely. … I change the auto lock time and all the time it fails by sending a message that it failed but when I close the app and wait a little and reopen the app, I see it worked but not all the times. Sometimes I need to try several times. … the same happens when I lock or unlock remotely, sometimes it works and sometimes it does not. So frustrating. They say don’t share the app and I removed any share access to no avail. They say bring the modem closer to lock but the modem is only 10 feet away. In general it is a mess. I know someone replies and says call our experts and we can help but they are bunch of clueless people. Do not buy this lock. Even one star is too many.

The lock will not connect when scanned for in the app & it doesn’t show up in Bluetooth list of devices on iPhone but it does show up if I run a Bluetooth scanning app on the iPhone which suggests there’s some incompatibility between the lock Bluetooth & normal iPhone Bluetooth.

Fails to create and/or delete codes more often than it works. Excruciatingly slow even when it does work. Would not purchase these locks again. Buyer beware

I wish I had installed this app before having the lock installed. First of all, account creation failed for two weeks saying my internet connection was faulty (it is/was not). I eventually did what I never do and called support. They gave me an alternate url to create an account. Except I still couldn't, but now it showed a different error message. Invalid email address... for an email address that I have used for 24 years. They asked me to create a yahoo or hotmail account. No thanks. What kind of backwards development team works on this?
