I love this app, and the subscription is worth it. It has replaced a lot of the time I was mindlessly scrolling with learning and engaging. I feel accomplished each day because I’m working towards my goals, and the setup makes a lot of sense for how to actually learn a language. This is much better than Duolingo.

If you genuinely believe the lake-scorching machines designed specifically to commit plagiarism have any place in education, you either don't know what you're talking about or your childhood dream was to be a conman. I want to learn Mandarin to communicate better with someone I want to be friends with, so I came to this app, just to find it uses AI. The companies that are shoving artificial "intelligence" down your throat don't want to help you, the learner, with their inbred, self -destructive, misinformation generators. They're scrambling to make a profit off of the technology they bought in bulk before they heard it ticking. If you know what's good for yourself, and you actually care about learning languages accurately from vetted human sources, you'll avoid anything that uses AI and have a laugh to yourself in the process.

Reading in another language about topics that interest you is one of the best ways to acquire a new language, along with listening. LingQ provides the means to accomplish both of these key tasks and provides the ability to import your own content to the reader. 5/5 app, worth every dime.

Great app and I use it every day but it is a lot of money for an e-reader and I wish they would improve the performance of the app.

I benefited from this app much much more than learning by myself from a book or from classes. The key is to find material interesting to me keep it consistent everyday. Once I learn to use all the features of this App, it offers me endless interesting materials and keep my learning easy and simple. I recommend this app!

I like this app a lot but I have a thought/idea that might be useful. I am using ChatGPT to create stories for me that incorporate vocabulary or areas or interest that I want to learn. What I am wondering is why can’t LingQ do that for me? It has a literal bank of words that I know and access to AI technology. Every few days or so, I should get an email that says “A New Story Just for You!” that is AI generated and contains 15-20% new words or grammar that I can now add to my library. By definition it would be topically related to my interests since it was generated using my word bank.

This app is fantastic for learning a language from the start or for retaining and improving your current languages. If starting out: use the beginner lessons and mini stories. Repeat what you here and ask and answer the questions at the end. One story a day and review the day before or the 5 stories on Friday to keep fresh. Most likely you need to see words 5-10 times before they start to stick. That’s the great thing about seeing them in stories. Once you finish the mini stories you can start uploading your own material from the web or books. Or use what others have uploaded. Also by the time you finish the mini stories I would consider getting 1-1 speaking sessions through partner apps, amazing talker or helotalk.
