## Learn Tamil Script! Description
Tamil is a Dravidian language spoken in southern India, primarily in the state of Tamil Nadu. It is also an official language in Sri Lanka and Singapore.
It is also spoken by the large Tamil diaspora communities of Malaysia, Myanmar, South Africa, the UK, the US, Canada, Australia, and Mauritius.
Tamil is also considered one of the longest-surviving classical languages of the world. The earliest epigraphic records of Tamil date to the 3rd century BCE.
It is written with an abugida, with 12 vowels (uyireḻuttu, "soul-letters") and 18 consonants (meyyeḻuttu, "body-letters").
This app is designed to help you become comfortable with recognizing more and more complex letter forms until you can read and construct full-words.
Start first by studying the vowels, practicing writing them down and then trying the quiz. Then try the quiz with the diacritics.
Then, move on to consonants. Then, try the quiz with the consonant-vowel combinations.
There is also a word scramble and typing game to practice putting together common words.

### ***-- "Incomplete"
I’m not planning on learning Tamil. I just want to be able to discern different letters within a text so it looks like text instead of just lines of curves and lines. Alas, this is missing fundamental tools like tracing and the step to forming the letters. I tried a few different these and only Bengali has a tracing feature. Oh well. There are others on the App Store.
