How to change language in letterboxd?
It’s really neat seeing how other regular people rate movies and review stuff. The critics are so out of touch with reality it’s crazy so having something where other real people discuss stuff. I wish they’d add tv shows or make a tv app version of this. Alright new really important issue. If a movie is releasing this week people can rate it way in advance. People will say stuff like “So hyped for this movie” and rate 5 stars or they’ll say “This looks terrible 1/2 a star”. Which creates false ratings and you can’t tell if it’s doing well or if it’s bad. Almost all of the 1/2 star reviews of borderlands are clearly done by people who haven’t seen it(I’m not saying the movie is good or bad in any means). Something needs to be done to lock reviews until the official worldwide release date.
People’s reviews and comments are either extremely rude and negative or don’t make any sense sorry but not
I love letterboxd, but one thing I constantly run into that I wish it had was listings and credits for animators! As an animator myself it would be nice to have them available on this platform/ maybe that’s just an IMDb thing and that’s fine if so, I just don’t use IMDb nearly as much
A friend recommended the app and I downloaded it to find out that I can’t track TV shows on there. So much media is a series now that it almost seems odd to only track movies and not television shows/Limited series. Please add television.
PLEASE GET TV SHOWS ON THIS APP OMG
Letterboxd is cool. It’s one of the few “social” media apps I actually use and I use it a lot. However, please stop sending me blog posts and articles and actually update the app to include user requested features. I say this with the utmost love. Letterboxd has been around long enough to be considered a mature platform and yet still lacks basic features present on all other social platforms: privacy features, direct message functionality, etc. Many of which were announced over a year ago and have yet to come to fruition. There is also a litany of awesome film related user requests that seem to have been ignored, meanwhile all of the energy seems to go toward blog posts and email blasts. Those features are great but seem like they should be supplementary or secondary. Can we no longer see the forest through the trees? Has the plot been lost? As a film logging/sharing platform Letterboxd is still unrivaled but that’s increasingly becoming not enough to warrant paying for a Pro or Patron account and wondering where my coins are going. Still, it is deserving of a high 3 star which could have easily been a solid 5. I love Letterboxd but I am admittedly growing disenchanted. The overabundance of cringe reviews from the same few one word/joke/clickbait/spoiler reviewers and no way to filter them out also doesn’t help the experience. The last great update was stats pages and that’s been a min. In the past I’ve also been very critical of the sheer amount of times and methods Letterboxd phones home and the depth of user data being shared, especially using the app, but at least they have now been transparent about most of it. Also, to be fair, a lot of it seems due to integration with third-party APIs. Of course, this is common practice these days and isn’t unique to Letterboxd even if it leaves a bitter taste in the mouth of this paying customer.
First of all, I love this app and I’m actually addicted. I love the different features it has. Secondly, I have a suggestion. I recently downloaded Serializd and they have a suggestion feature. Where you can send a suggestion to someone and I can see all the things people have suggested to me. I think something like that would be really cool for Letterboxd to have too.
I have been logged out and can not get back into my account. I have tried every email I have and every Password I have ever used. Can’t even ask for support because apparently you have to be logged in to get support.
This app WAS very fun for collecting movies, seeing and keeping track of what i watched but suddenly, after having it for several months it signed me out. When i signed back in, everything on my profile was gone. It was my account but every movie, review and movie list I had made disappeared. This is incredibly frustrating and made me not want to even retry with the app.
