LG ThinQ Reviews

Initial setup of dishwasher

Australia

Very confusing with no explanation forthcoming. First run of rinse cycle 2:45 min. Nothing explained in owner manual or LGthinQ app. Hopefully it will settle down.

Doesn’t work

Rubbish app. I note the responses from LG are a poor as the app

worthless

101101000101 on

Australia

barely functional. takes a half a minute to detect devices EVERY TIME you tab in or out of the app, almost never detects tv on the network, and when it does it will randomly tell you the tv is on or off based not upon reality but just on feels. so you’ll try and switch the tv off but it will turn it on instead. not to mention that it takes about 10 seconds for anything you do on app’s remote control function to actually register with the tv - that’s IF it registers at all. every element is a crapshoot. app regularly freezes or stops loading on blank pages with no way to close them or go back, so most of your time in-app will be spent force quitting, reloading the app, waiting a minute for it to detect your devices, the app failing, force quitting again, and reopening and trying again and hoping for the best. the app seems to log you out of your account every time the direction of the wind changes and ever since the latest update, attempting to sign in via QR code consistently results in the app soft locking and requiring another force quit and restart. utterly useless, just a complete waste of dev time and a waste of my time trying to get any of it to work at all

Clunky.

Could be so much better

Cooked

Latest update has completely cooked what was previously a decent enough app and one of the reasons we’ve bought multiple LG machines. Have tried to reinstall but it just gives a spinning wheel or jumble of text.

Unstable wifi control

nicktangents on

Australia

Brand new LG air conditioner x2 are extremely unstable on Ubiquiti wifi network which is rock solid for dozens of other IOT devices. It’s unclear whether this app or the device is at fault. But the app is unusable accordingly.

Hopeless app

Mickfromaustralia on

We purchased a new fridge in November 2024 and noticed in the following days that all of our drinks were not getting cold even though the fridge was set at 1° and the upwards send notifications to us daily telling us that the fridge is running 1° so we put in an independent cooling monitoring sensor and found that the fridge was only getting as low as 5° and the freezer was actually over freezing out freezer section by 4° we had a technician come out who said it’s a popular software problem and tried to program the fridge to cool more but now three days later the fridge constantly cools at approximately 5° even though we have it set at 1° . I realise this is a fridge fault. Not an app fault but the app should know that the temperature in the fridge is 5° not 1 degree …

Update broke the app

Works well when it loads properly. Takes way too long to activate the remote feature. LG please fix if possible via update. Thanks heaps.
