LG ThinQ FAQ
Is LG ThinQ free?
Yes, LG ThinQ is completely free and it doesn't have any in-app purchases or subscriptions.
Is LG ThinQ legit?
⚠️ The LG ThinQ app has poor ratings and negative feedback. Users seem unsatisfied with its performance or features.
As a long-time LG customer, I have five LG TVs in my home. The problem started when I bought two TVs in my office. Unfortunately, LG remote controls are primitive and can not be dedicated to one TV, so they conflict. I downloaded this app to use it as a remote alternative, and it works 5% of the time. My advice to LG: Try to put your customer first and get yourself a proper app development team.
Login issues
Unable to login after app update!
manipulative liar bru
icl i needed to connect my phone to the tv cuz the shi mad buffering but it gave me a remote 2.0 instead im acc home bug.
Useless
Trying to connect soundbar just tells me can support products produced after 2024. It's 1st January 2025 today so not much hope. I've had many lg TVs and now soundbars but I've been disappointed lately with the apps
No thanks
Asks for precise location, don’t think so LG.
Rubbish and completely pointless
Awful, three LG tv’s in my house and it can’t find either. Why you need to do all this nonsense just to download youtube onto my tv that I paid for I will never know. Wouldn’t have bought the tv’s and would have got a different brand to LG if I had known and certainly won’t be buying any other LG products in the future as a result. Permanently deleted the pointless app and had to log into the tv manually
Rage inducing!
I have had my LG washer dryer for two years. I have also had the app for the same length of time but it is not only useless it is rage inducing. When first setting it up it has severe connectivity issues despite the router being on the opposite countertop directly facing the machine which is 4 feet away. When it works it works fine however every time the app is updated it has a glitch whereby it no longer reads the machine as being turned on (it reads the machine as turned off even if it is on) rendering the app useless. I have to delete the machine from the app and reinstall it again experiencing the connectivity issues despite it being 4 feet from the router etc. I am tech savvy. I keep my devices software up to date. I have tried the old turn it off then on etc. I have deleted the app and rebooted the iPhone before reinstall hoping that the next update won’t cause the glitch again but it does. None of the usual common sense tech fixes work so I’m going to be buying a different brand next time around.
Absolute rubbish
TV won’t talk with app. So have to login on TV which gives me an EU login page that tells me I can’t use EU services in U.K. rendering me unable to login to TV in anyway by this app or direct to TV. So now I am using the TV offline and deleting my LG accounts. Lost a customer through poor UX.
In response to developer. Chat won’t help when the login pages don’t work in my locality.
Terrible App
A garbage app that has a number of issues relating to WiFi. Trying to connect on the app never works across the WiFi network but the Apple Remote app connected to the same tv does. No real fixes releases as well just app reskins. Never buying a LGTV again just because of the garbage webos, learnt my lesson
Data harvesting
Will no longer connect to my TV unless I grant it precise location permissions. Do one LG.
In response to developer; plenty of apps ask for the “connect to local networks” permission to join other networks without asking for location permissions.
