Lightme - Logbook is a clean and powerful tool to record and keep track of your rolls, shots, developments, as well as gear and consumables (soon! :) ) that revolve around the process of shooting and developing film.

The aim of the project is to build something beautiful, yet very functional and immediate, with the goal of both reducing the effort taken to record each shot/roll as well as allowing a sufficient level of flexibility and covering various scenarios.

The app will offer a few key features, together with the main logging activity you may expect from a digital logbook:
• The possibility of reviewing the stored information in different aggregated forms, i.e. by allowing to build some interesting graphs/histogams based on fields and data filtered according to user-defined criteria.
• Data export for various "searches" in formats like json or csv
• A straight-forward way of keeping track of large format film-holders with three possible states (unloaded, loaded and exposed) and info about either the film or the shot that is inside them.
• Post development notes for rolls, sheets and shots, also allowing to add a further photo to record also the final results.

Records metadata to scans

This is the most complete package I’ve seen. My needs: I wanted to track metadata (GPS, Camera/Lens, Date, Time, ISO, Shutter, Aperture) as I took pictures on my film cameras. Then after receiving scans, apply that metadata so my pictures play nicely in the Photos App. I was so surprised to see this app does it all! This removes the need for me to fumble around with exifTools to accomplish this. This developer is my hero. Well worth the $12 a year this costs.

Logbook

Just a fwiw fyi - I love the light me meter app. This app is a brilliant idea. But. This app is not free. Download and you cannot use it without paying. I’m not saying it should be free. But it should be affordable. And people should know the price upfront. And maybe 30 days to try it without having to pay.

Great app

It’s well thought out for recording film info. It even has bellows compensation.

Good functionality but buggy and crashes

It’s usable and handy but occasionally it just straight up crashes on startup and I can’t use it at all. Sort of defeats the purpose of logging anything if I can’t log all of a roll.

Good idea, pretty buggy

The idea and integration with Lightme are great. Using it is different. Unable to assign apertures to shots / app is prone to suddenly crashing. Would be great if it worked.

Must have for film shooters

This app has everything I wanted in a film logging app. It has all the options you could need without having too many options, keeping it professional without being overwhelming. I was skeptical to pay without trying at first, but do to limited options I took the chance and am happy I did.
