best language learning app!

greencoucheli on

Canada

if you're thinking of using duolingo to genuinely learn korean— don't. it was good to get a decent grip on hangul and some intro words, but the lack of explanation of what you're doing and repetition of useless sentences won't get you far. this app explains every bit of grammar in absurd detail, and actually tests you with tricky options and actually making you use the keyboard (!!!!!). i found this app on a search of one that lets go of romanization, and the option to turn it off entirely (!!!!!!!!!) is life changing as someone who already knows hangul very well. i cannot recommend it enough! everyone complaining about the price doesn't seem to understand this app is literally equivalent to a real life lesson. the detail and depth is crazy. i'll happily pay 18$ a month for all that!!

Le F rançais vers l’anglais

En français, il y a plein de fautes sur les mots, le sens des mots, le choix des mots, la structure des phrases… c’est désespérant. J’ai envoyé beaucoup de demandes de correction. Est-ce qu’on en tiendra compte? Est-ce que cette app est en rodage et qu’elle va s’améliorer incessamment? Est-ce que je peux être remboursé?

Best language learning app for Asian languages

I am learning Korean and Chinese with Lingo Deer. I use Duolingo for additional exercises and I must say that I feel like I’m learning more when I use Lingo Deer. Their lessons rate better structured, easy to follow. I love the tips and reading/speaking lessons at the end of each class.

Incomplete or outdated

Joon carry flow on

Tried their Japanese. It has a large library but the section seems like it was built by someone and left alone after. Not being updated since it was first built years ago. The design and flow is old looking. The language structure they teach isn’t modern how people use today for some lessons. Also the functionality of the app is lacking. Some small features and efficiency that other apps have, LingoDeer misses. Asking around $150 usd seems very high for the current state. The reviews in-app seems artificial as well

It’s good but…

It’s good that you’re doing that but it’s boring lol 😆

Not worth it!

If you just want to focus in learning one language, don’t even bother downloading it. There’s just not much content to worth $150!

The first lesson

I’m learning Japanese. This app is not new user friendly. The structure is much advanced for anyone starting out new. My first lesson jumped right into haragana without being taught the individual alphabet itself. I should be learning basic phrases not advanced uncommon words

Je recommande vivement meilleur appli pour apprendre le coréen.

hard sales push, not enough time to test

h250010501 on

it allows you to do ONE lesson without paying, and pushes very aggressively a ‘75% off’ lifetime purchase that is quite pricy. apparently theres a 7 days trial that you have to remember to cancel to not be charged. but its not clearly spelled out in the terms. used car salesman all the way. left a bad first impression. staying with duolingo even though maybe lingodeer would actually have advantages. but from doing only one lesson, there’s no way to know.

Review for Vietnamese Learning

ranv1r on

Slower paced in comparison to Duolingo. Pronunciation is crisp and better as well. It is easy to make out tones. Sentences are not randomly made up and actually make sense. Much more worth than Duolingo. This also covers grammar which I felt was neat.
