Such a shame that after the first day there’s no free option without doing a free trial. According to the first day I could tell this is probably one of the best learning programs I have ever used. Unfortunately I can’t afford to pay at all and I won’t use the free trial because I’m afraid I’d forget to cancel.
I discovered that my own knowledge of languages is now so good that I can now find errors in Lingvist’s courses — and there are many!!! Frankly I find it ridiculous that I am the one paying for Lingvist — it’s me who should be getting paid for reporting mistakes instead. The quality of the ET-RU course #2 is abysmal, and the mistakes made by Lingvist course authors keep tripping me up, disrupting my learning process. Annoying as duck!
I have downloaded this app, but instead of bypassing estonian language test it commes to learning estonian and enforcing to subscribe for 1 year for 79,99 euros. I can not find any possibility to go out of learning materials to test/examination - because I am fully proficient/bilingual of estonian language and DO NOT need a subcription. AS a result of all this I spend already a few hours in several days to solve the issue, but so far without any success. Distrccommend strongly.

Since I started using Lingvist, my vocabulary has increased ten-fold. Lingvist puts all the teaching techniques into use with a simple habit. This app has radically changed my approach to learning for the better.
First of all, when writing on kana keyboard, the app crashes sometimes and my progress for the day is reset. Anyway my main issue is words that have different translations. The prime example is “important” in japanese. So far i have had three different translations to “important” (大切、大事、重要) and i know there are actually more translations. This is severely confusing as i only get “important” as a task and the only way i know which one to choose is by remembering the example sentence. I have more words that are synonyms like that and i have to remember the example sentence. I wish this was solved somehow.

This is by far better than Duolingo or anything else! 1) Custom decks feature allows me to create my own vocabulary list for learning by just uploading a PDF book. 2) AI really understands which words are harder for me to memorise and shows them more often 3) Great user experience for serious learners, good selection of European and some Asian languages for learning
There is no support for speaking exercises. You can only memorise words by typing them. In general, if you studied Estonian at A2-B1 level - nice app to expand your vocabulary. If you only have started learning - try other apps.
The reason because of its success is it provide consistent learning and your progress is obviously displayed which motivates you during the journey. Highly recommended :)
