LinkedIn Learning Reviews

Abandoned app?

lotto_ on

United States

I doubt LinkedIn Learning might be already abandoned. A very simple bug that effects greatly on users experience like the video player interfaces was there for such a long time. It's that they chose the play/pause in white and won't be dimming the video when click, so guess what, in a white dominant video, you won't be able to see the play/pause icons! you need to randomly touch the center of the video to control!

Can’t cast video to TV anymore

podEternal24 on

United States

I love the content but the app is lacking because casting video with Airplay is broken (used to work). Since the Desktop/browser version also doesn’t cast to devices and there is no Roku app, there’s no way to play LinkedIn Learning courses on my TV. Please fix Airplay Video casting!

Please make the pause button a different color!

Aimeez98 on

United States

I’m having trouble looking for the pause bottom, so frustrating when the background and the pause bottom are the same color!

Good concept, bots of bugs…

Mr. Willcott on

United States

While I enjoy the certifications, here are a lot of bugs. The CSCMP certificates of completion have a broken download link for the PDF version. Every course has a problem with the share to LinkedIn feature, as I always get an error message and it never posts to my feed. I have to manually copy & paste it into the LinkedIn app. In the courses themselves, the navigation controls are white when the majority of the slides have white as the background color, making the navigation controls almost useless most of the time. Also, when completing a course and the “Add to LinkedIn” button appears, it only posts minimal details to your License & Certifications section. Details like credential ID, media file, media file title, media file description, and sometimes the skills aren’t added (skills aren’t added for the certificate when you already have the skill in your Skills section…it just omits the skill). Unless LinkedIn users manually alphabetize their Skills section, it quickly becomes an unreadable jumbled mess that no HR recruiter wants to painstakingly sift through. Skills just get dumped in after course completion and once somebody gets more than 20 or so skills, it becomes an eyesore on users’ profiles. Also, getting some certifications and certifying organizations outside of just IT and Supply Chain would be nice. Outside of these two fields, and possibly B2B salesmen spamming users with sales pitches, there isn’t much appeal to the LinkedIn ecosystem for anybody else. It’s kind of casting the net too narrow….

Please Fix Video Control Colors

HuskySushi on

United States

LinkedIn, your video player control UI does not use any shadows on icons or anything to visually separate itself from the video content it’s overlaying. A lot of your video content are long holds on white slides and your video controls are pure white icons. This means your video controls are usually invisible 🤦. Use some means of ensuring the controls have visible and accessible contrast when overlayed. I’m surprised this design flaw has gone on as long as it has?? Feels like something you’d notice right away! Otherwise, I’m usually pretty happy with the app and library. I definitely wish the library had more industry-recognized experts. I want to see the masterclass level heavy hitters that– not just know their stuff– but are the people that move that field forwards.

Super buggy app that just displays a webpage

KMC190 on

United States

The login rarely works and once you are logged in it shows the cancel button in the top left and a link to open it in the app.. that you are currently using.. this is a useless app and has been for a long time. I kept waiting for it to get better but after like a year of it being terrible I give up. Do better LinkedIn.

Video Player UI Issues

Hskdhensmksndnfkdne on

United States

I’ve looked everywhere to see if there is an option for dark mode on the LinkedIn Learning app that might fix this and I could not find anything. My biggest complaint is that the video playback UI is completely white so when viewing training that has a predominantly white background color, the video UI is basically invisible. It’s so infuriating to accidentally skip to the next video in the series because the button was invisible. Please fix the video player UI. I’ve spent a lot of time digging through settings trying to see if there is already a solution to this, but to no avail.

AirPlay broken

WV fan 9 on

United States

It did work - but now only the audio and course splash screen stream. Support has not been helpful - very very frustrating. Please fix this! It was bad enough when the Lynda app for Roku was discontinued. Now AirPlay is broken. Seems this app is going backwards.

Please Add slight drop shadow to video controls

{AJ} on

United States

The video player controls are white, icons, and many courses show slides with white backgrounds, which means it’s impossible to see the controls against the slides, causing a frustrating user experience. My suggestion would be to add a slight drop shadow to the control icons so that you can see them against any background.

Unsupported Content

Contentgrrl on

United States

"This course uses a new content format that is not supported in your app version. To complete the course, please update your app from the app store." I go to the app store and my app is already up to date, no update to load. I just updated my iphone, will update after I reboot.
