LiquidText PDF Reader Reviews

Love the concept

AngieCarrie on

New Zealand

There is nothing that comes close to this app in terms of the features I would like to have for a pdf reader and annotation tool. The work flow is just incredible. However, the undo function can be extremely glitchy and I will experience the last several ink strokes just randomly disappear/delete. It is not helpful that there is no redo button on the panel either. Highlight is also not appealing on the work space so I tend to never use it. Ink and highlight strokes can benefit from being smoother. Another feature that could be beneficial is the ability to add multiple images to a document at once. Otherwise, I am willing to overlook these inconveniences because I love the app, plain and simple. If these were fixed, it would be completely faultless.

Buggy

I really love using this app to keep all my reading notes in one place for Uni, but lately it's been really buggy. My iPad version is not recognising my subscription which is super inconvenient when trying to study on the go. Frustrating and upsetting. Considering ending my subscription until this issue is resolved.

Pro app only

It’s basically a copy and paste text tool unless you pay high fees each month. This limits it to companies only really. One of purchase of $10. Maybe would be worth it. Otherwise it just is for copying text.

Ridiculous pricing

So good, absolute Godsend for thesis marking

Kia ora from Aotearoa New ZealandThis makes marking theses so much easier - excerpt and comment, and then you have all your notes and excerpts for the write up. Brilliant. Same for lit reviews. Brilliant, and getting better all the time

Good way of clipping things into one project

But needs the ability to view pages more efficiently, e.g. whole document overview in small pages.

Won’t read epubs and crashes all the time

I regret this (expensive!) purchase so much. The app is super buggy and crashes on the reg. You can’t use the “link” feature to join two different parts of your handwritten notes?! The screenshot functionality is super painful to use. I hate it :(

Life Changing App

I work in the fields of crash analysis and engineering. Reading published papers and also studying is a daily occurrence. I use an iPad Pro and Apple Pencil and have tried a lot of apps. Nothing comes close LiquidText. Quite simply to amazing

Starting to look pretty dated

Ivanapinyon on

Liquid text was an exciting, innovative app when it was launched. Unfortunately, the general design language has moved on since then, considerably.

Awesome but not perfect

miackyNZ on

Would be nice to fix/ install these features: 1. Make images or text boxes rotate-able 2. Merging/linking text boxes are a pain. (I'm not referring to linking via drawing a line, but linking by dragging text box to text box). 3. Linking text boxes by drawing a line: please make the whole tree selected when double tapped. Love the app but there is still lots of room for improvement. Still, would recommend to grad students.
