Description

See and hear every change to every article on Wikipedia in real-time. Bells are sounded for additions and strings are plucked for subtractions. The pitch changes with the size of the edit – the larger the edit, the deeper the note. Green circles show edits from unregistered contributors, and purple circles mark edits performed by automated bots. Orchestral swells and a blue banner welcome new editors.
The app has support for English, German, Spanish, Swedish, Russian, and 27 other languages.

Thank you!

Thanks for maintaining your classic app. I thought it was mothballed, and was pleasantly surprised to find you updated it. I really like how you reflect changes in Wikipedia with tones. Happy holidays!

Long time user

I found this program online back in 2012-13ish, and still have it bookmarked but the app is such a great thing!! There are a few thing that are a little wonky, but I still love this app and use it a few times a week. It’s a great tool for when I’m writing papers, great ‘flow-state’ sound.

Lovely but no longer compatible

It's like listening to a wind chime, interesting and abstract. I hope the developer can update it to work on ios 14 & 15.

No longer works

IPadOS 14.5.1 will no longer start this app. In fact I think it has been deleted. When you try to open it from the App Store you get a message that the app is incompatible with the current version of the OS and needs to be updated by its maker. In fact it has been warning me about this for awhile, I just didn’t know which update was going to kill it. So sad! I was just about to show it to someone too. Please update! Thanks!

Calming

Apple-Pear-2020 on

This is incredibly calming to have on my headphones while filtering out other noises. The sound is not quite as pleasant as it was when you could stream it through your Internet browser, but that function no longer works. This is a good replacement for now. I turned all of the languages on so that I would get a more vibrant stream of sounds. I would pay for this. It keeps me sane.

Nothing like the web version

Vuel987 on

When listening to the side by side to the website the instruments in the app sound like a smaller instrument with a higher pitch and less length to the note. Short, quick, pitchy, sporadic and clustered is the best way to describe it.

Great, but

don’t use this to fall asleep to if you use your phone’s alarm to wake up. Your alarm won’t make sound. Good for background noise during the day though.

COOL! support Korean language please.

The app is cool, but I will thank you if you add korean in language list.

No sound

RobP1957 on

United States

Could not get sound out of the app and was pulling my hair out trying to understand why. Then I realized the ringer volume toggle switch was off. I always keep it off as I make my phone vibrate for calls and no other app has problems playing music or sound with the switch in that position. This needs to be fixed. Also, the bells sound much more jarring (high pitched?) for some reason than the web based version.

Very cool

Very cool app based on a very cool concept. Would be nice if it worked from the background or lock screen as well though. Not everyone keeps their phone plugged in and leaving the screen on can drain battery pretty quick.
