It’s literally the best Bible reading app in the world!
Logos bible is so convenient for study of the scriptures. I have only scratched the surface of its capacities. THANK YOU!
Enjoy reading from your website
This is the best app for serious Bible study students I could find. This is mostly because it works with Logos collections, which are digital copies of the best Bible studies and commentaries you can also find. Logos offers more resources than just this app and digital copies of books, but this is what I use and know. If you are looking for a paper version of a classic Christian book, chances are that Logos might have a digital copy of it for sale, which is convenient because you can have literally thousands a of Christian books in your phone. Also, “delivery” is immediate after purchase (contrast that with an Amazon delivery that takes days or more). I think we should still have paper books because some day the Internet might be blocked or totally controlled, that would be a natural consequence of what it is written in Revelation about the coming world gov., but meanwhile, we can enjoy the freedom and delight to read Christian books for personal edification and to share/teach to others. Not all books here are God-inspired, though, in my opinion, but still, we should read broadly always asking the Lord in praying for discernment.
I use Logos for my daily Bible study. The notes are very helpful and often provide cultural, regional background information that adds insight to passages. Occasionally I use audio and appreciate how the text scrolls along with the reader so that my eyes and ears are both engaged in the text. I’ve been reading other reviews and am impressed with Logos’ responses and requests for more information to help improve the product. So many app makers stop answering reviews after the initial wave of reviews but Logos is still paying attention. It is a complicated platform but that’s because it offers so much. I’ve been able to figure out enough for my needs.
I love all the options and commentaries and use the app daily for teaching and learning.
TLDR: As a stand-alone bible study tool stay away. As a companion for the desktop software and centralized notes it gets you there…eventually. If you are invested in Logos content, this app can be useful despite bugs like crashing, failing to display properly without resetting, and general slowness. If you are looking for bible study apps there are far cheaper options available with better layouts and twice the speed.
I love they have so many versions! It making cross referencing so much easier and you can keep tabs open. They also have a Greek translation!!! I use it quite a bit. I have successfully highlighted and then used the translation options once, but sometimes it’s not an option. Over all loving it!
Super helpful app, and accurate! Makes Bible study easy for lay people and scholars alike, and super easy to use. Highly recommend this Bible app. It’s worth it!
It may be pricey, and there is a learning curve but it’s worth it to me. Just a reminder or a heads up if you didn’t know, the app is NOT meant to take the desktops place. I am using the iPhone app but the iPads app looks cooler with a writing feature with the app pen.
