Whether you’re going to Pearson Airport or across the Tri-Cities, Lokal is here for you day and night. Here’s how it works: Simply open the app, tell us where you need to go, and a local driver from your community will pick you up in minutes. You can choose to lock-in the upfront price we’ve calculated for you or you can go with the metered rate. Payment can be easily made by credit card, account number, or cash. After the trip, you can rate your ride and provide feedback to help us improve your experience. You’ll also get a receipt by email. Just sit back, relax, and let Lokal take you where you need to go.

Lokal, local to Waterloo region, had a reputable taxi business. 
It provides cheaper and higher quality service than uber or Lyft. Yet a lot of people do not use it. Why? The app is horrible. People look for seamless experience. In order to compete with those giants, you need to make the app not act and look like it is from 2010.
Just invest a few thousand into upgrading this app. It will bring in more customers. Partner with plentiful students around the area.

The service is fine but the app is terrible. The map won’t let you see details about your destination and it’s really easy to select the wrong address. Best way is to search the destination on Google maps, then copy paste the address into Lokal but even that’s not always effective.

The app wants me to mark the destination on the map I think and I can’t do that so I couldn’t book a trip.

I take the cab fairly regularly but I’m not sure the customer support is really there. I always accept the quoted price plus tip but when there is an error on their end they have no way of refunding you or crediting your account.

App works - was able to book a taxi at a cheaper rate than Uber, no issues or phone validation or anything there. 

But the app is very clunky, feels like a prototype. Text is hard to read because of the colour, everything is slow, UI feels like it was designed by someone who doesn’t know how iPhone apps should work.

Every time I try to use the app it is broken. This has been going on for months. Today it won't even load, just sits at the Lokal first screen. This makes me so sad as I would much rather support our local taxi drivers over Uber.

I thought I had booked a ride for 6:35am. Apparently all I did was tell the app to start looking for a ride at 6:35am. By 6:37 the app was still “searching” for a car for me. I ended up having to book a last-minute uber which barely got me to the train station in time. Absolute garbage.

This is a wonderful idea... if it worked... was sent the verification code and entered it but it doesn’t work. Then if you select resend verification code it doesn’t work. Talk about a complete failure. If you guys want to help taxi drivers get fares vs Uber you’re completely failing at it
