The LPB App: 

The LPB App allows you to easily access all national, acquired, and local productions available from LPB!
The app provides On-Demand content of all your favorite shows, PBS Kids! content with parental controls, easy access to the TV program schedule plus the ability to explore additional content!

• DVR-like controls (pause, rewind, and fast forward).  You can pause the live stream to have a conversation and pick up right where you left off.  Or rewind to catch a comment you just missed!
• Watch live streams of special events!  Start the app and your favorite station starts playing. Watch PBS programs easily from your device, no matter where you are.
• Integrated TV program schedules of LPB, PBS Kids!, and Create.

• Easily share stories and programs with family and friends via the “Share” button.

This is a great app. The content in PBS is truly one of the best in streaming. I find I am educated, entertained, and astounded, often all at once. It is a bargain and best money for your value. The Masterpiece programs are top rate.

Closed captioning is no longer functional when watching “live” programming on the app as it is when on demand streaming is used. And programs that are not “live” are being shown instead. I have been unable to get help by emailing or calling LPB.

I almost watch LPB exclusively. The content is beyond compare. When you support LPB at a certain donation level (I think it’s $60 for the year) you get access to Passport which is access to all past LPB archives and current programs. Try it out - Public Broadcasting is life changing.

I live in Wisconsin, but am of partial French ancestry, so anything that covers the French-American community interests me. LPB has so many great programs having to do with the Cajun and Creole cultures, many of them in French. And the app is easy to use on top of everything else.

The app used to provide a detailed synopsis of a program episode’s subject, not any more. It no longer gives information on additional times an episode will be shown. The meager information now provided after the app’s update I can obtain from another app. As such, I no longer find the app to be useful and have deleted it.
