Luma Surveillance Reviews

Not reliable

App works only sometimes.

Garbage

$andy! on

This app is garbage. Can’t access live view on my phone. Functionality was limited when it did work. Just get yourself a nest or ring camera.

Poor update.

tre3ni on

United States

As of the last update, on my IPad, when I select to see the recorded video from a previous time period it flips my screen to a vertical presentation instead of horizontal. It cuts off the fields where I should be able to fill in the dates I want to see. I normally view my screen in the horizontal position.

Luma app is very inconsistent

koberlin1 on

We are an AV firm and Luma was one of our major surveillance system offerings, that is until the app became pretty much unusable. The hardware is great, essentially rebranded Hikvision. But the most important thing, accessing the camera system, at least as of the last few years, is almost impossible. You'll notice there was about a three year gap in any app update until around four months ago where they've released a few. None have made any noticeable improvements. Hours spent with tech-support with promises of them "looking into it". Our customers invested a lot of money in these camera systems only to be totally frustrated in the end. Even more frustrating for us as an integrator is that there's nothing we can do, and nothing the manufacturer is offering to help with. Dev team, just get rid of this app and build a new one from scratch.

Worst Ever for $20,000 cost

Could it be worse? Went our and bought a different system, installed it myself for under a $1000.

App does not work

Rkl128 on

Newly installed and the cameras don’t work at night. The app keeps getting stuck in loop. Had to delete the ap and reinstall numerous times. Playback feature also does not work consistently.

This App Needs Help

Whatapile on

Luma needs to step up their game! You spend big money on a high end surveillance system and you get a crap app. This latest iPhone update won’t even let me see all my cameras because of Luma lag. C’mon Luma!

Useless even when it works.

Been using it at work. The most dysfunctional software ever. I have not tried another system to compare it to but this one is useless.

Fix the feed quality

Mike062009 on

United States

For the longest time when displaying my cameras it would display it in medium quality then jump to high quality when I click on a camera to view full screen. Now all nine of my cameras in the grid view show up as high quality even before opening a feed to see full screen. Bring back the capability to display in lower quality when viewing as a grid then jump to high quality when camera feed is selected. This is causing cameras to load up slow, memory issues and frozen camera images. Please either roll back to prior version or update application.

New version buggy

Lac to on

United States

I don’t notice any improvements, only new problems, especially in viewing various menus and screens which were never problematic.
