I used to use this app to make my iPad a second screen for my work computer. However, after a year of not using the app and then updating the app, I cannot connect the iPad to my laptop via Wi-Fi. I am able to connect via cable, but in doing so I cannot keep my iPad charged which defeats the purpose. COMPLETE WASTE OF MONEY, just buy a second portable monitor (Lepow is great), which has much better connection anyways. If you are going mac to ipad that probably fine, but I would strongly advise against wasting money on this if you are looking to go from PC to ipad.

I was a kickstarter supporter and have been continually impressed with the improvement in this product. If you need something like this, get it.

I bought this one year ago. Then I tested it after reading many reviews, but what bothers me is, once the screen is on idle, I always have to walk to the main hub(Mac, laptop,etc) to wake it up in order to reactivate the Luna display connection to my iPad, otherwise the iPad Luna display just gonna keep trying to connect forever. Until after several months, several try, I finally figured it out. You need a Bluetooth mouse that is connected to the main hub(Mac, laptop,etc), and you bring the mouse with you wherever you use the iPad. Then every time when Luna display is launched on the iPad, I just move the mouse at my hand to wake the idled main hub(in another room) up, then the connection will establish in my iPad beautifully. Now I love it, I can bring my iPad(with the main hub mouse) and go to any room of my house, it always work(in rare cases, at most, it need a relaunch of the Luna display on the iPad, it will reconnect). I can continue to use my Mac mini, without buying another laptop for the mobility at home!

The connectivity from this product is very inconsistent and unreliable. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t - on the same devices and network. That’s the case with both wired and wireless connections. Sometimes it loses connectivity in the middle of a session and then does not connect back. Way too expensive a product for it to be this bad and unreliable.

i wanted to use this product with my linux device, as well as console and other hdmi product. i assumed that if they sell just the hdmi dongle, all the app needs to do is accent that signal, but that's not the case. the app will not connect unless it is connected to its software on your desktop. It should not need software on my computer to receive the hdmi signal, this app needs to update to support that. Alternatively, linux support would help as well.

Supposedly, in 5.1.1 the option to enable “Exclusive Fullscreen Mode” was added but in the current version, there’s no mention of it anywhere that I can see.

What it says on the tin. If there was a way to give negative stars, I would. Only benefit being that they’re good with refunds for products and exchanges of incorrect orders.

I’m working remote for a week and needed a second monitor, so a friend recommended Luna Display to make my iPad second display for my PC. Set up was a breeze and initial use has been great. Cheers to you Astropad team!

I’ve never written a review for an app. First time. Maybe the last, dunno. But this thing is freaking amazing. My use case: 3 uses: 1. Producing educational videos and was looking for a teleprompter option to keep my videos ‘tight’. 2. Zoom and Team calls. Drives me nuts seeing people looking away from the camera. Much more engaging to be able to look your team directly in the eye and still see their response on the monitor. 3. Producing short promotional videos. tight scripts are a must. I’ve tried several other options. Apple sidecar is clunky and is not user friendly. This dongle/app allows me to use my 11” iPad Pro as the external monitor in my teleprompter setup - so that saved me about $300 (not having to buy an external monitor to use in the teleprompter beam splitter.) I do recommend hardwiring the IPad to my Mac Mini provides a faster connection. Behind the teleprompter is my Sony A7II camera with a 34-70/4 lens. I also just discovered Speakflow, which is the best prompter software I’ve ever used. Since it listens to you and tracks your voice it moves the text on the teleprompter as you speak. So I can take the ‘pregnant pause’, or pause for emphasis, and the flow stops..until I start talking again. its pretty amazing actually.
