Description

Lunary is focused on beautifully showing correct Hebrew date at any moment in time, wherever you are. It continuously calculates and displays number of days left until the next holiday throughout the year and allows you to quickly find and convert corresponding dates ninety years in the past and ninety years in the future.
You search for dates by scrolling the year index at the right margin of the calendar view. This index will be shown only once when the application is launched, but it will be there anytime you touch it again. There is no need to manually enter the dates, just scroll (for months) or use the year index (for years) - everything is already there and it is a matter of seconds.
If location is available:
• Lunary changes the Hebrew date at sunset
• it shows sunrise and sunset times for yesterday, today and tomorrow
• it shows length of daytime or nighttime
If location is not available, Hebrew date changes at midnight.

Lunary Reviews

Read before you buy. Inaccuracies, not great formatting.

I bought this app because it was the first (and one of the only) Jewish calendars in the App Store that included the Gregorian calendar as well as all of the holidays, including generally “minor” ones. It’s simple and easy to navigate, but doesn’t look good on all devices. If you’re using it on a phone, I’m sure it looks fine. If you’re like me and use an ipad as one of your main electronics, it doesn’t fill the screen, is aesthetically unpleasant, and really hard to use. Even in “vertical” mode, theres large black bars on both sides of the screen. For the most part, the calendar looks fine, but it doesn’t account for when certain holidays fall on Shabbat. For example, the 17th of Tammuz is a Shabbat this year. The calendar still says that the Fast of Tammuz is on Shabbat instead of shifting it to the 18th. Fast days should never fall on Shabbat. If they chose to fix these errors, I could see it being worth the money, but with so many bugs I personally don’t think its worth the $5. I will be requesting a refund and looking for another app.

Easy to use and look at. Shows sunrise and sunset for your location, and on calendar you can scroll forward and backward. Would be nice to have a way to search for a date and jump to it.
