## Maaser Description
Maaser makes the mitzvah of giving a tenth feel as good as it should.

Log what you earn, log what you give, and always know exactly what's left
to give — one clear number, updated live. Every donation grows your Giving
Tree, from first Seed to mighty Oak, so your lifetime of giving has a shape
you can see.

NEW: THE JEWISH YEAR HAS AN END
Maaser now knows where you are in the Jewish year:
• During Elul, Home tells you plainly how many days until the year closes —
no countdown pressure, no guilt, just the date the calendar already keeps
• Tap through to your reckoning since Rosh Hashana: what you owed, what you
  gave, and what's left
• Flip History to the Jewish year any time — the tax year stays separate,
  for Gift Aid

FIND OUT WHERE YOU STAND
Already been keeping track somewhere else? Bring your history in and settle
up:
• Import a bank statement or your own spreadsheet (CSV) — from Excel,
Numbers, or your banking app's export
• See a live estimate of where you'd stand from the moment the file opens,
  before you've confirmed a thing
• Confirm every line, never type: the app reads each row and proposes income
or gift, and you tick what belongs — nothing is added without your say-so
• Rows already in your History are flagged before you decide — now catching
near-misses too, where a name or a date drifted between your records
• Changed your mind? Undo a whole import in one tap
• Imported donations are never marked Gift Aided — that stays a deliberate,
  per-charity decision you make yourself

DESIGNED FOR MAASER
• Log income as "owed" and donations as "given" — the balance does the math
• The tree grows on what actually leaves your pocket, so your reckoning
  stays honest
• Start where you really stand: a quick opening balance on first launch means
your tree has a shape from your very first log

UK GIFT AID, DONE RIGHT
For UK taxpayers, Maaser quietly keeps your Gift Aid records straight:
• Mark which donations were made under Gift Aid — Maaser remembers each
charity's answer so future gifts are pre-filled
• See each gift's full value to the charity, including the 25% reclaim —
shown separately, never mixed into your maaser balance
• Higher or additional rate? Get an estimate of your own Self Assessment
reclaim (an estimate, not tax advice)
• Export a tax-year CSV summary for your return or your accountant
• Not in the UK? Leave the toggle off and none of this ever appears

FAST TO LOG, SATISFYING TO USE
• Log a gift in seconds: amount, recipient, save
• Milestones, gentle animations and haptics make giving feel rewarding
• History with filters and swipe-to-edit keeps your records tidy

PRIVATE BY DESIGN
• No accounts, no sign-up, no tracking, no analytics
• Your data lives on your device, with optional iCloud sync across your
devices — it's yours, full stop
• Imports happen entirely on your phone — your statements never leave it
• Delete everything at any time with one tap

Whether you call it maaser, tzedakah, or tithing — give with clarity, and
watch your tree grow.
