This is my first food tracking experience and wow this was a great choice. The app is super simple to use. It literally takes no more than a minute to log each meal. Easy to understand. Love this app.
After 8 years using another food logging app I’m a total convert to MacroFactor. Everything is better. The barcode scanner and food database improvements are just the beginning. As a bodybuilding who go through phases of cut, maintenance, and growth - this app does the work of a coach and a nutritionist. The macro calculations are spot on based on modern research, the weight / calorie trend algorithm is pure black magic and integrates beautifully with smart scales and health data from other sources. I had a 3000+ day streak (8+ years) using another app. MacroFactor is the only app that has convinced me to change.
I love this app but I would really love it to have a workouts section where I can see how many calories I have burnt through the day so I can diet accordingly
Don’t bother downloading, makes you sign up to then have a free 1 week trial straight into paying for it, waste of time
I was hesitant to make a switch from what I knew, but I gotta say these guys have nailed the user experience and nerd level. So happy with the feedback I am getting. I have alway struggled with fatigue when training, this is allowing me to get a much better feel for my expenditure and tailor myself and goals. Also love that the developers are open to engaging. It feels like you’re apart of something.
It’s a glaring omission that this app doesn’t support App wide kilojoule support. This is pretty much essential for Australia and New Zealand. Disappointing to see that this has been requested from 2022 and it’s now nearly 2025. Does it really take 3 years to implement this support.
It's a thoughtful, interesting and intelligent app to support you in body composition goals. The pace of development is fast, the direction of development is excellent, and the app itself is better and better all the time. I strongly recommend Macrofactor for anyone looking to lose fat, gain muscle, maintain weight, or any combination of the three.
I can’t understand all these five star reviews, I really wish I was having a five star experience. I’ve been using the app for about six weeks now, and about 1/3 of everything I scan is incorrect. I do live in Australia so I don’t know how much that affects things. Often it will get it close, for example I scanned a soy milk and it came up with a different brand of soy with different macros. I scanned a pack of wraps and it came up with the name but the macros were completely different. I just scanned a muscle nation protein bar, it came up with the right name, but said 27g protein… it has 16. 10 grams of fat, it has 6. I checked serving size and it was listed as the right grams. I think part of the issue is it counts dietary fibre toward total carbohydrates - this only explains some errors though. There doesn’t seem to be an easy way to report errors like there is in myfitnesspal. I’ve followed Jeff for ages, I appreciate the depth he goes into in his research for his videos and I really want to like this app - but at this rate I’ll be requesting a refund, as it takes so much more effort than my fitness pal just to constantly make sure the macros are correct.
By far the best nutrition tracking app. It’s amazing how it adapts energy targets. I also love how customisable it is. It is very expensive for an app though - I wish there was an option to pay a one time fee instead of having to pay a subscription.
