As a pet caregiver I have had majorly disappointing interaction with their back end team. They were unreasonable, unfair, and would not provide payment transactions information (payslip) when they had removed my access to my account/profile and they refused to provide the breakdowns of their payment they provided that was well under the expected amount I was due to receive. When I asked for the payslip they said they would not be providing one. I was not looked after or treated fairly. Madpaws discriminated against me through a horrific situation I was in that was outside of my control and abruptly remove my ability to Access Madpaws unable to use my account without any warning or notification for over a week and just left me wondering while ignoring my emails and phone calls. Their actions were completely unjustified and I have thousands of dollars of lost income due to their poor business management and decision making that concluded in terminating my profile and removing my 5 star account with only positive reviews. I will now endeavour to find a more reasonable and appropriate conclusion.

No customer support when pet owners don’t pay, has left me out of pocket hundreds of dollars before I deleted it.

I have found mad paws helpful for finding a sitter and it’s great there is insurance included. However they really need to use their own app frequently because it is not very user friendly & causes me constant frustration. It drives me nuts with issues adding my address in, selecting availability, issues approving bookings, constant repeated notifications of every task I do via email and sms (I could get about 8 spam notifications for one booking). And finally, asking for payment, taking payment but then expecting me to also approve it after the dog walk- the button of which is often not available to be clicked on so I have to wait up to 24hrs to do it again. Expecting you to leave a review for someone who knows where you live already (ie reviews aren’t anonymous and they’ll know exactly what you wrote) is also frustrating as then customers most likely wont leave honest reviews & only favourable feedback. The service is good but the app needs major improvements.

I’d stick with the website for now. The app is not talking well with the website, still unstable.

Photos delete themselves once added via app which is frustrating. Partner had the same issue and said had to do on website vice app. Might need looking into.

MadPaws just want money they don’t care about anyone’s safety. Emailed admin when the pet sitter I had booked left my home shortly after i did instead of staying for the day. Sitter gave my house key to a man I didn’t know who came into my home after she left. I find out via my security camera she was sending fake updates to me when she wasn’t even there. I had to change my locks stewards it was very distressing. No response, no refund from Madpaws. Stay away!!!

Mad paws has been great for me as a sitter and allowed be to easily find customers and work even without heaps of experience. They take care of insurance and payments which is a relief for me and worth the 20% fee. The two changes I want to see made is the option for twice a day check ins for owners (I currently get them to select my pet sitting rate which doesn’t feel right) and I want to be able to grandfather in payments so that prices don’t raise for my existing clients unless I want them to. (It would be great if you could set per client).

The pet owners (who is herself a pet sitter on madpaws) places a booking enquiry and agree to meet and greet but cancels because they find someone else outside of Madpaws (because Madpaws takes 20% cut) and this keeps on happening. There is no system of rating pet owners who are always pet sitters on madpaws. If there is a system of capturing response rate of pet sitters then there should be an option of rating such pet owners. Also after recent update to the app, i am unable to view my own profile through the option of “view public profile”. So frustrating.

The app is very slow and has bugs here and there. So frustrating to use!!

Excellent platform, a very frustrating app to operate. A lot of bugs, constantly restarting with no reason, always bring me back to the first page after messaging a pet sitter, and often requires 5-6 refreshing in order to press into sitter’s profile.
