## (मणि) MANI Description
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has been sensitive to the challenges faced by the visually challenged in conducting their day to day business with Indian banknotes. MANI will aid the visually impaired to identify the denomination of Indian banknotes of Mahatma Gandhi Series and Mahatma Gandhi (New) series by capturing the image of the notes placed in front of rear mobile camera. The application will generate audio and non-sonic notification intimating the currency note denomination to the user.

MANI utilizes the underlying Voiceover feature of iOS phones to help visually impaired users to interact with their mobile phone.

## (मणि) MANI Reviews in India

### *---- "Doesn’t work"
Even if a kids note is scanned , it tells the denomination. Is it even for real ?Seems not working or a fake app
-- Kurugodgangadhar, 2025-05-01

### *---- "local languages ?"
this app works only in english and hindi, what about the other 5 languages...?
-- manjackan, 2022-12-07

### ***-- "Bug"
After selecting “Only visually impaired “ screen doesn’t move forward, its keep getting back to same menu. Whereas only after selecting “Visually and Hearing impaired “ screen moves to next option of scanning the note. Please see.
-- prashantsingh896, 2021-11-27

### ***** "Vision accessibility solution"
Awesome app good option for accessible currency recognisation
-- vision accessibility solution, 2021-05-20

### *---- "Pathetic is also not the word for this app"
I was curious to see what this app can do for a person with no vision or hearing issues.
1. Machine voice and not Human voice !
2. Wrong pronunciation of many words !
3. Spelling mistakes; probably RBI meant it only for visually & hearing challenged - so it doesn’t matter !

RBI - please use better developers and you can afford it.

By the way, my curiosity was curtailed because I don’t have any impairment. The app was closed after a beep ! Wow!

I guess only developers rated this 5 stars!
-- itsme-me, 2020-09-27
