Manga UP! Reviews

People are smarter than this

Farmercout10 on

Nobody is dumb enough to pay real money to RENT pieces of a manga chapter. Oh and the 4 and 5 star reviews are definitely paid plants.

You have to buy chapters, even if you’re subbed

that_oni_boy on

United States

Every single series has the last handful of chapters blocked behind paywalls. Why do you think anyone would pay a subscription if youre going to make them buy the content, anyways. Oh, im sorry, rent the content, because you dont even own it. If you find that one panel you want to set as your background, they also threaten to ban you for screenshots, which shonen, viz & manga plus have never done. Until these jokers & kodansha stop trying to nickel & dime us, just stick with the viz apps. You dont have to worry about slamming into a paywall when youre barreling full speed through a title. Now i have to google scans to finish my series, because i am not buying something that im already paying to have access to.

Will split a chapter into 4 parts and charge you to read it.

Thingsrdumb on

Read apothecary diaries. They split the unreleased print chapters into 3-4 different parts and then charge you around 50 cents to read 1/4 of a chapter. I’m all good with supporting manga artists etc, but it doesn’t even cost this much to buy a print volume it’s ridiculous. I just spent like 13$ to read 12 chapters, and the reader is seriously janky.

Many New Titles in Subscription

SOS582 on

United States

It seems like Square Enix must have the rights to a lot of new titles in fantasy worlds. So far, the subscription has given access to almost every chapter except the 3 most recent in the series. Even the 3 most recent, I think you can read a limited number of the most recent per month. To me, it seems like other apps don’t have as many new titles in new worlds as Square Enix. I think the subscription is $5 a month. Not sure what previews they may or may not offer for free

Love it

I am loving the new subscription service. For the price of 2 sodas I can read so much manga and help the authors. I wish more apps would go this route so it could be easier to read manga without scan apps. Or paying 300 dollars to buy the whole series. I didn’t particularly like it at first when it first came out but I saw the updates the way made like implementing a sub service and it’s prob one of my top manga apps nowadays.

So much potential

helen.b.m. on

For $4.99 it’s a bit dumb and confusing to lock some chapters out of the vault pass. A subscription in my opinion should unlock everything that is on the platform.

i just dont understand

illuzic on

United States

why am i paying for a monthly subscription if i still have to buy coins to read chapters? fix this immediately

Account doesn’t work

blodwite1 on

United States

I initially enjoyed the experience and I would have bought some currency to keep reading the story but it will not let me create an account. There is always an error that tells me to try again later. Now it doesn’t even have my history and the chapters that I unlocked with my free log in rewards are gone. I will most likely not be back.

Amazing app that has improved a lot over the past year

MillenialPopulist94 on

When the Manga up app came out , It initially had bismal ratings due to the fact that similar to its Japanese counter part , you had to purchase individual chapters with a bizarre experience points themed system. Since then they have added a subscription based tier similar to the various viz media apps and manga plus. There are still some series that require experience points for the most recent chapters but given that they give you a ton of points for using the app everyday , it’s really easy to get the chapters for free when it’s all said and done. There are some amazing series on here and an incredible variety that is not available on the other apps

My Opinion

jeyfnaofyvjsygjskdjskdhdhksn on

United States

I installed this app when I saw the ad of “Assassin x Cinderella” and I fell in love with these two couples so I started reading them and boy, I was obsessed. I kept reading and I thought it was free so I was like YAY! THIS IS THE BEST APP EVER! I read more and more, and then it came to the part where I had no coins and no nothing and I clicked “continue to read” and I had to BUY coins. I was like NOPE SORRY THIS IS THE BEST MANGA BUT IM NOT BUYING ANYTHING. I got upset, but I realized not everything is free, not even the best manga but I loved the manga it’s the best. RECOMMENDED IF YOU’RE INTO ROMANCE AND COMEDY!!
