## ManUniCast Description
ManUniCast is a weather and air-quality forecasting app for everyone, including weather nerds. Delivering direct output from leading computer forecast models for the UK and Europe, ManUniCast is an educational tool for students and the general public to learn about and experience weather and air-quality forecasting in an easy-to-use app. These are the same models used by professional meteorologists and scientists to forecast and research the weather and air quality!

Choose one of three forecasts, updated once a day:
• weather over North Atlantic Ocean and most of Europe
• weather over the United Kingdom and Ireland
• air-quality over the United Kingdom and Ireland

View forecasts for the next two days of:
• precipitation (simulated radar imagery)
• cloud cover (simulated satellite imagery)
• surface air temperature
• surface winds
• sea-level pressure
• particulate matter (PM10 and PM2.5, including PM2.5 black carbon)
• ozone
• carbon monoxide

Options for advanced users include:
• 500-millibar height, absolute vorticity and winds
• convective available potential energy (CAPE)
• potential vorticity on the 320 K potential temperature surface

Developed by the Centre for Atmospheric Science and the Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences eLearning Team at the University of Manchester, ManUniCast uses the Weather Research and Forecasting model and its chemistry companion (WRF and WRF-Chem), which are the most popular forecasting model used by thousands of researchers around the world.

## ManUniCast Reviews in United Kingdom

### ***** "My teacher developed it at UoM"
Hello!
-- augustnuist, 2019-03-24

### *---- "Crashes"
Crashes every time when I try to open the app... Therefore never gotten to use it, not even once :(
-- SEAES2016, 2016-10-04

### ***-- "Worse"
Was such a great app, but I guess because students were updating it, it began to fail. I have a respiratory problem so used the air quality daily which was very accurate. The past week or so it just won't update from midnight the night before. Such a shame
-- Dreamcatcher44, 2016-06-23

### ****- "Nearly Great"
Everything appears to work fine on my iPod Touch, running iOS 6 ... Except that the text field in the orange bar, and in the drop-down, is wider than the screen.

### *---- "Crashes"
Crashes on opening. Shame.
-- MartinMuppet, 2015-06-18

### *---- "Crashes on Startup"
Sadly the app gets as far as the opening map and crashes. Sad considering it is one of the few UK based air quality apps.
-- RTPeat, 2015-05-04

### ***** "Amazing app!"
Recently downloaded Manunicast. Installed straightaway and worked instantly. Excellent weather info and very easy to use. Great detail and works really well on my iPhone and iPad. Best weather app I have used. Would very highly recommend it!
-- Av. Jane Doe, 2015-05-04

### ***** "Great app!"
Free WRF and WRF-Chem model output online for the UK? Great! Have not found a free app that does this. Works great on my iPad, iPad Mini, and iPhone 5S. Friends have said the same.

Daza391972: From your other reviews, it looks like you have trouble with many other apps. Perhaps it is your device?
-- Weather Man - UK, 2015-04-28

### *---- "Won't Open"
Looked good but Downloaded twice both occasions app won't open
-- Daza391972, 2015-03-24
