MapFactor Navigator is a free GPS navigation app with free offline maps from OpenStreetMaps (incl. free monthly maps update). You can navigate without an internet connection in 200+ countries. Disappointed!

I have never seen an app (GPS) this NON-intuitive, difficult to use, time consuming..etc etc.! I hope I can cancel in the trial period and not waste my money!! If there was a minus 5, that’s what it would get!

Improvement suggestions

House numbers are too small. Need to be able to show all favorites on the map. Export/import favorites. When edit the favorite, should prefill with current name. When routing to a favorite as destination, it always show as “no name”, clearly I have a name for the favorite. This app is pretty good so far, map file size looks reasonable. OSM is awesome and free. Map gray coloring sometimes is hard on eye.

Good app

The interface may look older than the latest GPS apps, but the offline maps coverage and app stability are the best. That is what counts when traveling!

Address search : no results !!!

Lol! The first address I looked up was not found… I searched : 1139 Hylan Blvd Staten Island NY 10305. No results!!! This place is not new, it existed for decades. The search tool is old school. You need to select state then city then street then number. You cannot start type in the address and get the app help you out finishing it. My rate is 1 1/2 stars and thumbs down 👎

Excellent support

I had a question on routing, and emailed my question to the developer, got my response within 1 hour! Can’t possibly be better than that. The graphics are excellent, easy to see with my iPhone mounted on Quadlock on the bars. The speed reminders may pay for the app too!

Doesn’t Work

So…select a language, then download a map….and then nothing. No way to use the app. I’ll pass. Update- by “nothing” I mean nothing happens. I stay on the download screen, with the option to go back to selecting a language. “Unfair rating?” The app does not work as advertised, and therefore was given a low rating. Please reconsider the unfair use of the word “unfair” when rating my rating.

Works with RouteXL GPX files

Was able to get a client using routing by importing GPX files generated by RouteXL.

Great app.

Voice nav names streets with tty enabled.
