Mappleread is really a good application to read ebooks. We can have some wishes, but they are minor enhancements. For example, when we read on a big iPad, it would be better to have three columns. But we can read without them. 
The big point is a consequence of a big functionality. Mappleread is absolutely able to manipulate a big bulk of books. More than ten thousand, certainly. But the functions to search, to highlight, to find the book are not enough. Even the tags are not always really imported, and search could be placed on the résumé, with keywords or whatever to navigate - or dream- with the books.

Good reading application, allows for tags, customization... the only thing missing is the grouping of series into a single stack in the library for better visibility. We could click on the book series and it would open a sub-library with all the volumes.

Imo, lacks 2 features : « READ » status when book is finished reading and multi devices sync : your system doesn’t work properly. Sync should be automatic on app closing/opening. (I read on my iphone and my ipad). You should take into exemple « MARVIN » that, imo, was the best reader as long as it was alive. Great app, anyway, almost perfect for my use.

One of the best reading apps on the store, but there are two reasons why I like Kybook 3 better : - the page flip effect for .pdf files as well ; - the ability to load and manage ebooks directly from a dedicated IOS Files folder. If MapleRead could provide those features too, it could be a real alternative to Kybook 3, which hasn’t been updated for quite some time now.

J’ai connu cette application via le site Tidbits et depuis je ne la quitte plus.

Elle fonctionne pour moi de pair avec Calibre qui me permet de gérer toute ma bibliothèque numérique. La parfait duo !

MapleRead permet d’annoter les epub et d’accéder aux dictionnaires pour les définitions. Il faut passer du temps pour comprendre toutes les fonctionnalités offertes et les “apprivoiser” (on aimerait avoir des vidéos pour vite se former).

Avec le “Split View” sur iPad, j’ai iThoughtsX à côté de MapleRead pour ma prise de note sous forme de carte mentale ou Ulysses.

Avec la fonction “Text To Speech” sur iOS/iPadOS, on peut avoir une lecture des livres sous MapleRead.

Aucune autre application achetée n’arrive à son niveau. Mieux encore, ils sont toujours à l’écoute pour perfectionner l’application.

### ***** "Un nombre incroyable de fonctionnalités"
J’ai testé des dizaines d’applications de lecture. Celle-ci les surpasse haut la main, toutes.
La prise en main est un petit peu particulière, le look un peu rétro, les termes un peu techniques, mais ne vous laissez pas rebuter.

On sent que le développeur derrière est hyper pointu techniquement, pas de bug, transformation de l’appli en serveur opds/html, communication sur le réseau local, synchronisation parfaite, fonctionnalités à la pelle.

Il y a tellement de choses qu’on peut pas les lister.
Pour moi ce qui fait vraiment la différence par rapport aux meilleurs ereaders du store, c’est la gestion des annotations, synchronisables, exportables, télechargeables depuis internet, la prise en charge complète des epub ET des pdfs (contrairement à Marvin, et à Apple Books pour la prise de notes), les tags pour organiser sa bibliothèque, le zoom lockable sur les pdfs, et l’absence totale de bugs (contrairement à Bookari qui semble abandonnée).

L’application de lecture que j’ai longtemps cherchée. Il manque cependant la possibilité d’ajouter ses propres dictionnaires et l’indication de temps de lecture restant, à part ça, que du bon !
