## Mapper for Safari Description
Mapper is a Safari extension that instantly opens Google Maps links from the Google search page in Apple Maps. No more copy/pasting addresses or switching apps.

Key features:
- Redirect Google Maps links, addresses, direction buttons, and map thumbnails directly to Apple Maps.
- Support every Google domain (google.com, .co.uk, .ca, etc.) on iOS and macOS.
- Smart fallbacks: if Mapper can’t resolve a link, you’ll land on the Google Maps web app and then automatically redirect to Apple Maps.
- Zero data collection: Mapper only scans for map links on Google search pages and never stores personal or location data.

How it works:
- Install Mapper and enable the extension in Settings → Safari → Extensions.
- Browse to Google in Safari.
- Tap any map link, directions button, or thumbnail.
- Mapper grabs the address or search term and opens Apple Maps with a single tap.

This app finally returns things the way they should be. The iPhone used to let you select your preferred map program but some court somewhere stopped that. Most websites seem to send you to google maps for directions. This app redirects  you to Apple Maps. 

Be aware that Mapper’s directions say to tap on the AA in the google address bar. My phone shows a small box with 2 lines under it. Also remember to select only one map program and tell it only with this one (not all).

Like the title says, doesn’t work for me. still opens google maps regardless. description of the app needs to be updated to let people know that you CANNOT have google maps installed while using this extension.

In a world where linking to Google Maps is the default, Mapper is a must-have extension for those that prefer Apple Maps. 

Mapper works consistently on my iPhone to open Apple Maps, which provides a much better experience than Google Maps. It does fail with 5% of links that are edge cases: certain coordinates or Google-proprietary Plus Codes for example. Excited to continue using this on iPad and Mac now that “Apple Maps on the web” is in beta.

This extension JUST works! It does exactly as it says, there’s nothing more and nothing less. Great solution for fixing something that is a small but major inconvenience in (iOS-Google/google maps web api) when viewing any native google web api and just want to quickly have any place you were looking open natively in Apple Maps. Saves me the frustration and 15 seconds of having to go back and copy the address and then open the Apple maps app and paste the address I was viewing just to get directions. Not one too normally leave reviews but just wanted to let others know how it is worth every penny and 10x more.  I’d give it an 11/10 stars if I could.

Heard about this on Mac Power Users and went and downloaded it before they could finish describing it. This google maps thing has always driven me crazy. So this is so nice. I’ve been typing in addresses just to try it for like 3 minutes now. Lol. Thank you! Such a great extension

Seems to work great so far. Detects all of your map apps and lets you choose the one you want as default. Then clicky a map and wah-la (yes, I know, it’s voila) you get Waze or Apple Maps or whatever you want. Also runs fine after closing the Mapper app. Thumbs up.
