First of all, screw Google. This is a good alternative, however, there’s some issues that needs some serious resolving. First, this app CHEWS through battery life. It makes my phone scorching hot, so something is going on that is very unoptimized. Second thing, is the avatar not being aligned with the street that I’m on which is very confusing. Please just give us a more zoomed in look where the avatar matches the road I’m on. Third, is the AI voices are terrible. I want this app to be competitive with the mainstream Gmap and Apple Maps. Fourth, the app doesn’t stop running in the background when I complete a route! If I don’t force close it after reaching my destination, it keeps running navigating and kills my phone…Looking forward to improvements.

I was looking for a laundromat on Sunday in my town. The only one they listed is permanently closed for Construction for the time being. There's one other one that I'm gonna go check out but they don't even list it on MapQuest.

### ***-- "Why is it always pulling up my location services even though I selected to only use them while open?"
I downloaded Mapquest because I wanted to jump off of Apple Maps but the little navigation symbol pops into the little window at the top of the screen near the camera all the time despite the app being closed and turning the “location” to only while using the app. Because of this, I constantly assume the app is open and using my location… This is really dumb.

Few years Mapquest used to be the navigator until 'G' came along and got everyone switched.
I am so glad you survived and still around.  
Some suggestions on areas for improvement:- please add stops with suggestions for restaurants, gas, groceries, etc. along the way.

MapQuest is super reliable, but when I-5 is gridlocked, I’d love a 1-tap "Avoid Highways" toggle to quickly switch to back roads. Adding a seamless detour option for daily commuters would make this 5-star app perfect!

Like that Mapquest is still around and that they are not caving to a distraction. I would use it solely if it announced the hazards and what lane specifically you need to be in. 
Until then, I have to use 2 gps apps. The other one works great, I just use Mapquest to support them and reward good decisions.

If there’s one thing I expect a navigation app to do it’s find Walmart. MapQuest does not know where my local Walmart is. It tried to run me up a dirt road, maybe someone’s driveway. I don’t know what else to say about this. Very disappointed.

So here’s the thing I came here like most from other apps. Overall it’s a good gps. I do notice that it is not updated though on new housing developments that have gone up in the last 3-4 years though where I’m at. Which I’m sure they will work on. My one major gripe with this whole thing is you can’t saved pinned locations for naving to.

From the retro game style it uses to the various options of navigator voices, I do like what MapQuest offers. However, there are a few things that I would like to see added. First is an option to view mass transit when plotting a route. I like to ride trains and buses from time to time, so I would like to see the option. Second is an option on how search results are presented. One of my first use of MapQuest was searching which grocery store was closer to me, however the search results didn’t none of the places I knew but certain places twice the distance with decent yelp reviews. I do believe that is how MapQuest does advertisements, but I would like the search results to be fair with the advertising with the option to sort them by distance, reviews, etc.
