This app is good to find ATMs is supermarkets. Never rely on it for directions. Tried to direct you onto flyovers when there is no connections or the wrong way down one way streets. Was “worth it” when it was free. Needs to fix directing shortcomings to be worth paying for.
It used to be good.. don’t bother now..
Excellent and most reliable app 10/10
This app was my go to offline navigation tool for hiking and bikepacking. Now its full of adds and weird offers for city travellers. There is no use for offline maps in a city, there is always phone reception and wifi. I recommend using Mapout its a one of payment and you can use it for a lifetime.
I have used maps.me for more years than I can remember mostly while traveling eg. ten months in Europe 2019 where it was the most important tool for navigation by far - what is the lesson? NEVER update software that is working well, I am currently on the Camino Francés and I updated maps.me thinking I might get more up to date albergue information but now when I need to determine a point to point walking distance maps.me now draws the most bizarre most indirect path imaginable taking as much as twice the true distance, other categories do not seem to be affected, just walking - otherwise maps.me has been great, hope this gets fixed soon
This app has led me to tracks on occasions when I’ve ended up not where I planned

Why has this become do aggressively monitised?
I have used this app for many years and recommended it to everyone I know. BUT now it has priced itself out of my market. Too expensive monthly and unable to buy it outright. For an Australian who has used this app home and abroad for at least 10 years and donated money, I am bitterly disappointed and yes I know it has its free limits but when travelling they are used up quickly.
Awesome back up to have in Australia where the is often no signal!!
