This used to be a fantastic little app. Updates in the past couple of years have introduced bloat, tediously slow startup (especially offline), a highly unintuitive interface and a search which somehow lists things with completely different names thousands of kilometres away before an exact match three kilometres away. A great app has been ruined.

I really liked this app. Nice looking map, with lots of details. Fast and clean interface. But there must be some major issue with the machine code, because my iphone got really overheated when using with iphone 14 pro and apple carplay. The phone shut down the charging due to the overheating. Because of this i removed the app and went back to google. Maybe i will use it again if this issue is fixed.

Enkelt og greit
Kartet har med mange stier så det er fint for fotturer. Hvis du ikke har oppdatert før du drar på tur er kartet verdiløst. Det krever oppdatering for der du er, og du kommer ikke videre uten å bruke opp mobildata og tid på en kartoppdatering. Da blir andre kart valgt før maps.me
I’ve used Maps with me for over a decade on travels to all parts of the world. It’s a fantastic tool making driving and navigating foreign countries and cities a breeze with pre downloaded maps that don’t require mobile data once you set up. It does require a bit of pre planning of routes and pinning down waypoints and destination places before you set off, but what a comfort it gives to know exactly where to go at all times! It sometimes looses its bearing while walking between for example the skyscrapers of Manhattan or if there is poor satellite coverage but mostly works like a charm!
