I find it a good route map
Update to previous review…
It appears that the people who originally made maps.me sold it on for a tidy profit, and have created a new free app! Which I’ve now switched to… probably until they sell that one on as well Making the most of open source - tbf it’s a great business model :)
5 Star Map
I’ve had a few of these maps in my life. But this is the best yet. It puts Tom Tom shame. Very impressed
Great App Shame about “Premium”
Have used this app over the years when going abroad and love it, nice design easy to use etc.. not that it’s a big knock to to app essentially as you can download 10 maps for free. It’s a shame they’ve followed the “monthly premium” options for extras as I think like a lot of apps it will ruin it for itself. I think I would rather do a one off payment if anything.
Boat guy
Used this for years but ditching it as its now unusable with “upgrade to PRO” banners & adds. BIG shame. 😥
IF YOU ALREADY HAVE IT DON'T UPDATE
Ruined by the latest update. They got greedy and made unuseable unless you pay them loads on money every year. What a crock! Absolutely ruined.
Love maps.me
This is a brilliant app and we use it all round the world. We love that it also works offline - when you often can’t get WiFi and could easily get lost. It is invaluable and shows all walks we have done so far.
Great product but now very expensive
£49 a year for this - really? I pay less than half that for excellent walking maps. No way will I pay this. Pity as when it was free I used it all the time.
Great, but getting annoying
I’ve used this app for years for hiking. I’ve no problem with only being able to download a limited number of maps free, as that’s enough for me. But right now, for the last few weeks, every time I open the app it flashes up that I have only 4 hours left to get a bargain subscription deal. It’s a blooming long 4 hours! And the splash screen holds for several seconds before I can clear it. It’s one sure way of pushing me across to Gaia, the strong competition.
