Marvis has changed the way I listen to music on my devices. The app is well-designed with loads of features and it works smoothly. It offers a lot of options to adjust the settings to your own preferences. Moreover, it scrobbles tracks to your last.fm account, even if they are not added to your library. It’s app-tastic!
Amazing app for rediscovering your own library
Setting simple filters for surfacing your long forgotten, recently loved, least listened and so on. It gives you almost infinite number of combinations to suit your mood and what you want to listen to. Once you get a hang of the interface it will repay itself every time you check back in.

A must for every geeky music lover!!!
At first I thought it was just a nicely redesigned Apple Music / iTunes library playback overlay. Boy was I wrong!
Marvis is a music geek’s wet dream, period! I’m using it for 2 days and it already gave me the complete new perspective on my music library usage.
- great aesthetics (perfect and beautiful playback screen)
- countless customisation options of library view, home screen sections, display options and just everything
- internal dynamic sorting and filtering - kind of internal smart-playlists with additional great rules, like “don’t repeat artist in a set”
Thanks to Marvis Pro I fell in love again with my own music library which sometimes looked to me as somewhat boring shelf of dusted records. Sometimes it looked even as a messy pile of tracks, folders, files, album covers, separate discs and burned CDRs with nasty marker descriptions - like a semi physical-semi digital mess from the times of MP3-hoarding. Anyone remembers this from their own experience?
All mentioned features of Marvis turned this mess it into a treasure cave with limitless exploration opportunities.
In the age of information overload it’s a great attitude - help people making sense, turn boundless digital data into something you can really connect with. I feel like a hoarder after somebody helped him in going through all his rat-hole mess and turn it into a tidy, heartfelt environment, which still holds lots of surprises to explore.
Thank you sir, for turning this mess into my beloved MUSIC again, with all human emotions associated with it.
A MUST FOR EVERY
MUSIC LOVER!!!
Truly amazing
Worth the money. It’s beautiful, really fast and highly customizable. Much better than stock
After 3.0 update, the best 3rd party music app!
Worth it. Every zloty (I'm from Poland)
Buyer Beware
Buyer beware - If you don’t like this app, your refund requests will be declined as the app is not eligible for a refund.
I know this because I used this app for about 20 minutes and after deciding it wasn’t for me, couldn’t get my money back.
It would be great if the developer could offer a way to download the app for me and try it out for 24-48 hours before committing to the $10. This would be a far more consumer friendly approach.
EDIT: Updating my review to three stars after the developer’s response. It would be nice if Apple gave additional information on why it wasn’t eligible for me.
The ideal app for enjoying and exploring your music
I’ve used this app for a couple years now but finally felt like writing something. Frankly, I can’t think of a negative thing about it. It has *everything* I wanted in a music player:
- top-level sorting by song, album, artist, genre, etc, which can be modified as desired
- simple and clean interface that’s easy to navigate and aesthetically pleasing
- Last.fm integration for tracking my listens/scrobbles
- customizable gestures to swipe easily between screens
- customizable shortcuts to move between the current playing song and the corresponding album or artist (or whatever else you can think of!)
It even has things I didn’t know I’d want, like smart categories that you can add to the “home screen” of the app—for example, a playlist that highlights songs you used to listen to a lot but haven’t in a while (which has been VERY fun for me). And the UI customization is great. I had a lot of fun tweaking the opacity,
If you’re annoyed by Apple’s music app completely abandoning a design focused on your saved music (and the incessant pressure to join Apple Music), definitely give this app a shot. You won’t be disappointed.
Slide over music
Incredible app, super customizable, allows music to display in landscape mode (aka standby mode) and app feels/plays like Apple MUSIC but far more advanced. Highly recommend for the music lover looking to personalize the way content/tracks and music are displayed.
Awesome app, only one thing is missing
All that this app would need is the ability to add shortcuts via the shortcut app. I have playlists set up for different times of days and different weather combinations, but I have to activate them manually and would like to automate.
