Description This reader is equipped with various auto scroller speeds to make a more pleasurable reading experience. Frankenstein or, The Modern Prometheus, generally known as Frankenstein, is a novel written by Mary Shelley. Shelley started writing the story when she was 18 and the novel was published when she was 20. The first edition was published anonymously in London in 1818. Shelley's name appears on the second edition, published in 1831. The title of the novel refers to a scientist, Victor Frankenstein, who learns how to create life and creates a being in the likeness of man, but larger than average and more powerful. In popular culture, people have tended incorrectly to refer to the monster as "Frankenstein". Frankenstein is infused with some elements of the Gothic novel and the Romantic movement. It was also a warning against the expansion of modern man in the Industrial Revolution, alluded to in the novel's subtitle, The Modern Prometheus. The story has had an influence across literature and popular culture and spawned a complete genre of horror stories and films. ## Mary Shelley's Frankenstein! Reviews in United States ### **--- "Keep scrolling & scrolling & scrolling" Tried this app, and boy is it tough to read. Each chapter is just one long page, and the line breaks are all messed up. Hard to explain but it's like the text goes across a line & the next line is only half way across the page - so it's full line then half line all the way down. Doesn't come close to lining up with the sentences and it's really hard to follow. They have an "auto-scroll" function (the page just rolls automatically) which sounds cool, but isn't. Tried different speeds and it's just really distracting. And if you lose your place or get interrupted...prepare to start over in that tangled mess. Ugh. -- Lolachol, 2016-10-13 ### ***-- "No Chapter 10!" It's good up until Chapter which is missing. -- JasminBazing, 2013-05-15 ### ***-- "Not perfect" Missing Chapter 10 and puts chapters 20-24 out of order. Where the hell is chapter 10 and an update!!!! -- Jules Cloud5, 2013-02-14 [View all Mary Shelley's Frankenstein! reviews and detailed analytics on AppTail](https://app.apptail.io/signup?utm_campaign=ai-crawl&utm_content=reviews) ## Mary Shelley's Frankenstein!
