## Mass511 Description
The Mass511 app is the Massachusetts Department of Transportation's official traffic and traveler information app. The Mass511 app, new and improved in 2022, provides up-to-date traffic information for interstates, U.S. routes and state highways across Massachusetts.

FEATURES:
• Hands-free, eyes-free audio notifications of traffic events while you drive
• A zoom-enabled map with tappable traffic event icons and surrounding camera views
• Near real-time updates on traffic incidents, construction, weather and road closures
• Manage My Mass511 personalized accounts including saved routes, areas, and camera views and email and text alerts
• View current traffic speeds
• View traffic cameras throughout the state. Sign up for a My Mass511 account to save cameras for easy access.
• Access to additional traveler information resources

NOTE: Continued use of GPS running in the background can decrease device battery life.

The primary responsibility of every driver is the safe operation of their vehicle. While traveling, mobile communication devices should be used only when the motor vehicle is at a complete stop, off the traveled portion of the roadway. Do not text and drive (it's against the law) or use this app while driving.

## Mass511 Reviews in United States

### **--- "Not intuitive"
Takes a long time to figure out how to do things in the app
-- sefyjol, 2024-07-28

### *---- "No notification"
Mass Pike eastbound was shut down on 6/25/24 at 1:30am and detoured at the Copley plaza exit. There were no notification of this detour/shut down of the highway.
-- bphase33, 2024-06-25

### **--- "Baloney site"
It would have been 5 if the camera’s worked properly
-- ChazThe Curmudgeon, 2024-06-09

### **--- "Needs work"
Lots of glitches and certainly isn’t in real time Did not show any form of construction and road closures that I encountered
you can’t remove critical alerts that have nothing to do with where you are
-- karens songs, 2024-05-24

### **--- "Inaccurate"
I needed to travel Rt13 north from Leominster to Townsend. I knew the road in Lunenburg was closed 12/18/23 and needed to return 12/19.

Google map was ambiguous where 511 showed no issues!! I checked periodically as my time to leave approached. Google maps showed “lane closure” but still 511 showed all ok!

Google was right! Uninstalled 511…..
-- Rclark9280, 2023-12-19

### ***** "Great App"
This is a very intuitive tool. Nice work Mass DOT
