MathU RPN is based on the Reverse Polish Notation (RPN) entry system and combines more than 96 functions to create a calculator that meets the needs of professionals who use a calculator every day. First released in 2008, the calculator continues to be updated with new features as iOS improves. MathU RPN works on the iPhone, iPad and macOS. On the iPad, MathU RPN maintains its orientation as the iPad is turned and you can rotate it from portrait to landscape keypad layout via the Rotate button. When the iPad has a hardware keyboard attached, you can type of the names of the buttons the keyboard to execute them -- thus avoiding having to press the calculator keys with your finger. On the iPhone, you can lock it to always use the portrait or landscape keypad or let it switch orientations automatically when you rotate your phone. MathU RPN is an excellent financial calculator. There are functions for computing mortgage amortization and cash flow computations like IRR and NPV, as well as functions for working with dates. Many of the existing financial functions have been extended to handle odd periods (conforming to the same conventions as the HP-12C). In addition, on tall devices (like most iPhones), the financial registers are displayed on the keypad. MathU RPN is also a programmer's calculator. The A-F keys are available right up front for easy entry in HEX mode and there are many functions for working with integers. Dr. Clay M. Thompson of Creative Creek has harnessed the computational power of the iPhone to produce an accurate and high performance calculator. General Features - IEEE double precision accuracy (16 digits) - High performance fast computations - 20 storage registers - 5 financial registers - 16 high stack (switchable to 4) - Supports international number separators - Switch between portrait and landscape keypads - Quick access to the preference and on-line manual - Stack and Register view (accessible via [RCL][RCL] Scientific Features - Full set of trigonometric functions - Full set of logarithmic and power functions - Statistics functions - Polar and rectangular conversions - Repeated computations Mortgage and Loan Features - Time value of Money functions - Compute mortgage and loan terms - Solve for payments and interest rates - Solve for IRR and NPV - Date functions Computer Science Features - Number bases (HEX, OCT, DEC, BIN) - Bitwise logical operations - Masking and shifting functions - Support for a wordsizes up to 48 bits - Modular arithmetic MathU 4.1 supports iOS 16.6 or higher as well as macOS. This is my daily go-to calculator. It's also my absolute favorite HP emulator! It does everything I need from a calculator. Great combination of functions! Anyone who used the older vintage HPs will appreciate this calculator. Thank you Dr. Thompson for keeping this app current! -- Bearcreekmom, 2023-10-26 ### ***** "Awesome calculator!" I use this calculator on a daily basis and absolutely love it. I have been a fan of HP calculators since the 80’s and glad I found this app a number of years ago. -- MyOpinion70, 2023-10-10 ### ***** "Superb" I’ve used RPN since my first HP calculator 50 years ago. This app is a superb duplication of the original and looks just like the original keyboard. Perfect for all my scientific needs. -- DrRonsrq, 2022-06-10 ### ***** "Great calculator" Been using for many years. Has surpassed my HP calculator for most purposes, though the H-P works great. RPN is the only way to go for engineering calculations. Learn it and you’ll never touch an arithmetic calculator again j -- CummingJim, 2021-06-16 ### ***** "Really great RPN calculator" I have been using this calculator for years and found it flawless for a RPN calculator. Reverse Polish Notation (RPN) calculators take less keystrokes than an algebraic version to complete a series of calculations. This calculator faithfully executes the HP look and feel for those wanting combined scientific and business functions in one app. I cannot praise this calculator enough. -- biz217, 2018-08-07 ### ***** "I love this calculator." For those of us that used RPN calculators from HP all through high school and college, this is a brilliant and familiar implementation of that model. -- Mike_12, 2014-11-07 ### ****- "Best RPN calculator" This is the best RPN calculator I've found. Have been using it for ages. There's an issue with the last update on my iPad mini: I'm not able to access the settings anymore. The dialog will pop up, but tapping settings (or Quick Reference) won't do anything. A very personal preference: turn off display of the financial registers or replace it with first 5 regular registers. I don't use the financial functions that frequently so it's just distracting. -- Phoibos, 2014-11-04 ### ***** "Great workhorse of a calculator" I have used this RPN calculator for many years and what can I say other than it works. The iPad version has some bugs with the settings and help that need to be resolved. -- Geodov, 2014-11-04 ### **--- "Help doesn't work" Click help, app freezes, doesn't seem to work on iOS 8 -- Kevin D’Elia, 2014-10-28 ### ****- "Great but needs an update" This is a great RPN calculator, I've used it for several years. However, it needs an update/fix - ever since I0S7 shipped you can not use it during a phone call - data input doesn't work. -- MpMar27, 2014-03-01 [View all MathU RPN Calc reviews and detailed analytics on AppTail](https://app.apptail.io/signup?utm_campaign=ai-crawl&utm_content=reviews) ## MathU RPN Calc Store Rankings | Chart | Country | Category | Rank | |-------|---------|----------|------| | Top Paid | Sweden | Finance | #41 | | Top Paid | Switzerland | Finance | #50 | | Top Paid | Austria | Finance | #62 | | Top Paid | Denmark | Finance | #67 | | Top Paid | Belgium | Finance | #68 | | Top Paid | France | Finance | #76 | | Top Paid | Japan | Finance | #79 | | Top Paid | Chile | Finance | #91 | | Top Paid | Finland | Finance | #94 | | Top Paid | Netherlands | Finance | #94 | | Top Paid | Brazil | Finance | #97 | | Top Paid | Norway | Finance | #100 | | Top Paid | Germany | Finance | #102 | | Top Paid | New Zealand | Finance | #106 | | Top Paid | Spain | Finance | #108 | | Top Paid | Portugal | Finance | #111 | | Top Paid | Australia | Finance | #114 | | Top Paid | Mexico | Finance | #120 | | Top Paid | Italy | Finance | #123 | | Top Paid | Canada | Finance | #141 | | Top Paid | United Kingdom | Finance | #150 | | Top Paid | United States | Finance | #157 | | Top Paid | Hong Kong SAR China | Finance | #170 | | Top Paid | Colombia | Finance | #177 | | Top Paid | Greece | Finance | #179 | | Top Paid | Ireland | Finance | #186 | | Top Paid | South Africa | Finance | #192 | | Top Paid | Poland | Finance | #197 | | Top Paid | Singapore | Finance | #198 | | Top Paid | Israel | Finance | #210 | | Top Paid | Thailand | Finance | #217 | ## MathU RPN Calc Available In -
