When you unlock, the app doesn’t remember the page you’re on, it skips forward several pages (on longer issues, e.g. TT special it seems to skip forward a lot of pages) - solution: swipe right to find your previous page You get a ‘rewards’ pop-up, so you click it, but there seems to be no way to exit the screen you’re in to get back to the main app page or to continue reading On the plus side, the image quality is good -- PWEIProduct, 2024-06-20 ### *---- "Going around in a loop" I can’t access my subscription on my I pad it keeps saying that I need a later iOS but I cannot download that then it says that is ok download an older version but pressing continue just takes you in a loop. You sign up pay your subscription then all it does is ask you to subscribe every time you log in or open it. You try to sign in again thinking you may have made a mistake and surprise surprise you are logged in after all. You open a copy of MCN and it blocks you from reading it because your apparently not logged in. The money is removed from my account every month but I’m not subscribed!! I have complained to customer services and up to now have got nowhere apart from being out of pocket and an iPad that I threaten to bounce of the walls with frustration. I’ve been buying MCN from local newsagents for years and love it. I decided to sign up for a delivery service and opted for a digital version too to try it out with the intention of reverting to digital only if I liked it. That’s where the problem started. You have to activate an account before you can retrieve it but it would not allow me to access via the email link they sent me, via access on line or by downloading this useless app. I contacted customer services and having explained the situation I was told I needed to set up an on line account. Doh! Oh really I’d just explained that was the problem. Having explained it again twice I decided to revert to paper delivery only and asked them to refund the difference. They cannot do that apparently surprise surprise so I cancelled the whole thing and contacted my bank to be sure they didn’t take any funds. Why don’t they sort this out? I’m not the only one complaining so they’re obviously not listening to customers. I’m off to the local newsagent who sells out very quickly. I wonder why 🤔🙄 Update 27th May. Decided to have another try from scratch and signed up for a paper subscription. I’ve had one four weeks out of date two copies of the same paper twice and the rest haven’t arrived. I contacted today and they’ve refused to reimburse me but offered to extend the contract end date. What’s the point of extending a service I’m not receiving. They are in breech of contract and I’m having to take this further through the small claims court. I have been reading MCN for 50 years and you are now doing your best to drive me away. However, they mobile App fails miserably. They have never been able to get the App working. It a useless App and here is why: 1. It never synced with my digital account. I have both digital and print subscription, and while it says i am logged on, it never allows me to read and MCN issue. When clicking to Restore Purchases, it comes back with the message Restored, but its a fake message, nothing is actually restored. 2. The UI and UX is from a different planet. Trying to cramp everything on one menu is not the way forward. Account is logged in, but none of the other sections work. As if they are asking at every click to subscribe again and pay more. 3. Legally they are failing to honer the subscription I have with them, calling their helpdesk ends with someone saying we will look into this, sadly month later nothing has been addressed. Think twice before subscribing to their digital App. -- HadEnoughBadExperience, 2023-05-07 ### *---- "Be careful what you sign up for" Bauer advertise 99p for the first month, then £5.99. ‘Cancel anytime’. Then if you do cancel, they say you can’t because you’ve committed to 12 month, it’s in the small print, but is misleading, probably deliberately so. It’s also contradictory. I’ve cancelled the direct debit regardless. I’m not sure how it works if you go through Apple, but you pay more for it like that. This behaviour is a false economy, I if forced would cancel after the 12 month, also won’t renew a magazine subscription I currently have with them. Wouldn’t even consider subscribing to another Bauer magazine. And won’t use MCN Compare for my insurance. -- dmny67, 2023-03-18 ### *---- "MCN App review" To be honest the paper version has a much better layout out in that it’s much more engaging to read and visually more appealing. The app has none of this. I’ve also noticed that the app doesn’t have the bikes for sale section. I suppose you’re to browse MCN.com. However, it does make me think that you don’t get as much for your money if you were to advertise your bike.
